Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Complete the following exchange of dialogue which occurs as Kuzco and Pacha are sailing out of control down a river, about to go over a raging waterfall. Kuzco: "Sharp rocks at the bottom?" Pacha: "Most likely." Kuzco: ____________

Answer: "Bring it on."

Kuzco's definitely got the look of a dead man walking when he mutters this phrase. Or is that "dead man floating"?

On a completely unrelated note, "Bring It On" is the name of a movie starring Eliza Dushku (Faith from the popular TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") and Kirsten Dunst (of "Spiderman" fame).
2. Kronk, straining his mental capacity, utters this tidbit: "Ohhh right, the poison, the poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen specially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco's poison . . . ___________"

Answer: That poison?

There have been quite a few sidekicks in quite a few different movies over the years, but few have been as lovable or as developmentally thwarted as Kronk. Of course, it turned out that it wasn't even poison anyway. Exactly where does extract of llama come from, I wonder? I bet I don't wanna know.
3. Pacha's son says this to his mother: "I had a dream that Dad was tied to a log and was careening out of control down a raging _____________"

Answer: rither of death!

The kid did actually say "rither", not "river". A clever allusion to the tendency of small children to occasionally slur their words when speaking rapidly. In the subtitles it claims that he says "river of death", but you don't have to be listening particularly close to hear him make a "th" sound instead of a "v".
4. A waitress says this to Kuzco and Pacha: "Bless you for ________"

Answer: coming out in public.

At this point, they're dressed up as a husband and wife (Kuzco's the wife). I sure hope the waitress was being sarcastic. If there's a subculture of cross-dressing llamas, it was probably started thanks to this movie.
5. When Kronk's shoulder angel and devil show up during his moral dilemma, the devil says this: "He's tryin' to lead you down the path of righteousness. I'm gonna lead you down ___________"

Answer: the path that ROCKS!

"The yellow brick road" is an obvious reference to another famous children's movie, "The Wizard of Oz". Not nearly the comic funhouse that Kuzco built, but considered a classic nonetheless.
6. On the way to the lab: Yzma: "Pull the lever, Kronk." Kronk: *pulls the lever* Yzma: __________________

Answer: "WRONG LEVERRRRRrrrrrrrrr!"

After Yzma (seemingly by magic) retrieves herself from the pit, with an alligator latched onto her hind-end, she says, "Why do we even HAVE that lever?" She's acknowledging what is really quite a thoughtful parody of most spy/adventure movie villains who always seem to have all kinds of levers and buttons that serve unknown or ludicrous purposes, but whose existence no one questions.
7. Back to Kronk's shoulder angel and devil: The devil says, "Reason number one: Look at that guy, he's got that ________________"

Answer: sissy stringy music thing.

"We've been through this . . . it's a HARP. And you know it." The angel sounds a little miffed in reply. I probably would be too if my job was to appear on people's shoulders and be their conscience, and I had to carry a harp in the process.
8. Pacha's son says this to Pacha when he arrives home: "I'm as big as you were when you _________"

Answer: were me!

I wonder if it's a coincidence that "Pacha" and "paunchy" share the same first two letters? And it's interesting that his son phrases it the way he does . . . do most kids think of their parents as having "been them" when they were younger? My impression has been that kids usually struggle with the concept of their parents ever actually having been small.
9. Near the beginning of the movie, Pacha asks a guard for directions to Kuzco. The guard directs him, "Inside, up the stairs, ___________"

Answer: and to the left.

Wouldn't put it past Kuzco to have mid-morning caviar, but we're not told that he does. Also wouldn't put it past him to have a torture chamber, although no doubt he'd find it distasteful to actually do his own torturing. And we know Yzma has an alligator pit.

The main question remains, why is the alligator pit accessed through a trap door in the room leading to the laboratory? A question for the ages.
10. No hint on where this one comes from: "For the last time, we didn't order a giant __________"

Answer: trampoline!

Another anachronistic anomaly, anyone? (Man that's beautiful alliteration.) Trampoline indeed. As for Anne Heche, she flew out of the spotlight as quickly as a kitten launched from an unwanted trampoline several years back, after everyone realized that controversy doesn't make a career. A controversial mediocre actress is still mediocre. Hope you enjoyed the quiz!
