Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One of the robbers from the beginning of the movie was talking about a mutual friend, "getting ripped and walking off a roof." The other robber said that "The Bat" got him. What was the name of the friend that fell off the roof?

Answer: Johnny Gobs

Remember the family walking around Gotham City at the very beginning of the movie? This fine family was mugged by two street punks. Later these muggers went on top of a roof in the city to sort out the money. While they were sorting out the loot before Batman showed up, they were talking about whether Batman was real or not.
One of the muggers said that, "The bat got him", but the other mugger quickly dismissed that idea and said he walked off the roof.
2. Harvey Dent was the D.A. in Gotham City. In this movie he was campaigning to fight a war on crime in Gotham. Who played Harvey Dent?

Answer: Billy Dee Williams

This character later became Two Face in "Batman Forever".
Billy Dee Williams signed a contract with a clause that he was to play Two-Face in the sequel. However, the producers wanted Tommy Lee Jones for the role and bought out Williams' contract.
3. One of Knox's fellow reporters handed him a sketch of a bat creature wearing a suit. On the corner of the picture was the name of the artist. Who did the drawing of the picture?

Answer: Bob Kane

Bob Kane did create and draw the comics so he should be the one to draw the bat picture. At the bottom of the picture it was signed "Bob Kane". A couple of the other options mentioned do have extensive art talent. Frank Miller wrote the comic book "The Dark Night Returns". Tim Burton originally wanted to do a movie based on that comic but the studio wouldn't allow it. H.R. Giger was the conceptual character designer of the aliens in the "Alien" movie franchise. Alex Ross has drawn many comic books and comic characters including "Batman" comics.
4. Bruce Wayne was helped by his faithful butler Alfred. Which actor played Alfred in the movie?

Answer: Michael Gough

Michael Gough played the faithful Alfred in this movie and was credited as Alfred Pennyworth in "Batman and Robin" and "Batman Forever".
In this movie, the Joker's name was Jack Napier. This was a tribute to the actor Alan Napier, the actor who played Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred on the original TV show.
Alan Napier passed away two months before production started. Oddly, in the "Batman" comics they never revealed the Joker's real name he was just known as The Red Hood.
5. What number apartment did Vikki live in?

Answer: 9

Vikki Vale was an investigative photo-journalist who fell for Batman. At one point Bruce Wayne decided to go to Vikki's apartment to tell her he was Batman.
6. Who did the musical score for "Batman"?

Answer: Danny Elfman

Danny Elfman is very good at doing music for movies. He was also the frontman for Oingo Boingo. Oingo Boingo did songs for "Back to School" and "Weird Science". Danny Elfman also did the scores for "A Nightmare Before Christmas", "Spiderman," and "Red Dragon".
7. Who played Alexander Knox in the movie?

Answer: Robert Wuhl

Alexander Knox was an investigative reporter trying to uncover the story behind Batman. He and Vikki Vale teamed up to try and reveal the truth about Batman.
The character of Knox was created solely for the movie.
8. In the movie Bruce Wayne hosted a charity casino night. He told the waiter to open more cases of what at the casino night?

Answer: champagne

All the major players in the city showed up. Knox and Vikki Vale were there to get interviews with the Commissioner and the Mayor. While they were wandering around the mansion they ran into Bruce Wayne. During their conversation a waiter interrupted, asking about opening more champagne.
9. Bruce Wayne's parents died in the alley between what two streets?

Answer: Pearl and Phillips

In the movie Bruce Wayne had a flashback about his parents being murdered at gunpoint. Vikki Vale found out about it by looking in old newspapers. She found out the alley they were murdered in. Then she asked Knox to find out what was so special about the alley between those two streets.
10. At the end of the movie the Joker kidnapped Vikki Vale and retreated into the Gotham City Cathedral. He radioed his henchmen to pick him up in a helicopter at the top. How many minutes did Joker request until the chopper picked him up?

Answer: 10

Joker told the chopper to meet him on the roof of the cathedral in ten minutes. Interestingly enough if you timed the movie it did actually take ten minutes in real time for the chopper to arrive.
