At the beginning of the movie we see Bingo running across the carnival ground with a bucket. When he finally gets back with the water, the horse kicks it over. We learn Bingo has a weakness for cold cream on his way for the water.

Bingo does all but chew on the furniture. Bingo is locked inside the house all day while Chuckie's at school, and chews up the citizenship award, and eats the cold cream. When Chuckie gets home and lets him out Bingo has to pee, but later when Hal gets home we learn he also soiled the driveway.

Chuckie finds the dogs caged up when he go goes to leave a mark for Bingo to find and hears them making noise. Duke picks up stray dogs and locks them in cages. He picks up Bingo later and says that he'll be good after he gets better nourished.

The defense shows evidence that Bingo was at the seen of the robbery and claims that Bingo was the mastermind of Eli and Lennies crime. He's asked if he has an alibi. He doesn't respond and the judge orders him to answer if he has an alibi or be found in contempt.

Bingo sees Chuckie walking Mrs. Wallabe's dog and then leaves thinking he's been replaced. This is when Bingo gets a job as a dish washer. Chuckie tells Mrs. Wallabe that she has a good dog, but not as good as Bingo, when he reflects on how much he misses him. Eli and Lennie are the felons who pose as Mr Smith while trying to find Bingo.

After a moments consideration Hal gives in even though he hates animals. They are in the hospital surrounded by several of the characters from the movie who have come to show support for Bingo.
