Answer: Kuchiki Rukia

Kuchiki Rukia is the first shinigami we see in the anime. She is assigned to the 13th Division and later she becomes the lieutenant of her Division. Rukia forms part of the noble house Kuchiki, through adoption. She is the little sister of Hisana, Byakuya Kuchiki's wife.

When Hisana dies, Byakuya goes in search of the lost sister of his late wife and he adopts and welcomes her in his family. Due to her encounter with the hollow siblings, Rukia's very existence is erased from everyone's memories. For them, she does not exist.

The main protagonist of the anime, Kurosaki Ichigo, is the only one to remember her, but unfortunately Rukia herself does not remember Ichigo or the other shinigamis. So Ichigo goes on a quest to restore Rukia's memory and fight the hollow siblings.

Answer: Kurosaki Ichigo

Kurosaki Ichigo is the main protagonist of the anime. Not a full-fledged shinigami, he is the substitute shinigami of his town. Ichigo has always been different from others; since an early age, he's been able to see spirits roaming around his town. Added to that, he has naturally orange hair.

Initially, Ichigo's shinigami powers come from Rukia; she shares her powers with Ichigo so he can protect his family and friends. As from that day, Ichigo starts the duties of shinigamis. Also, it is through Rukia that the Soul Society has known Ichigo.

As Rukia's existence is erased from everyone's memory, they have also forgotten Ichigo. The latter also forgets Rukia for a while, before sensing something's wrong with her.

Answer: Kurotsuchi Mayuri

The 12th Division Captain is Kurotsuchi Mayuri. He is the mad scientist of the anime and works in the Shinigami Research and Development Institute. Kurotsuchi is a strange character and considers everyone and everything around him as subjects to research.

His appearance is also strange, actually we do not see his face, he wears a mask. He encounters the hollow siblings while conducting his activities. Upon contact with the scythe he loses his memory, completely forgetting what he is doing or where he is.

Answer: They want to stay with her.

Before Rukia becomes a shinigami, she lives with the siblings. Later on, we find that the siblings and Rukia are attacked by a hollow possessing a shinigami. After the death of the possessed shinigami, the hollow in turn possesses the siblings' bodies, which are taken to Hueco Mundo.

When they come back to the Soul Society, they find that Rukia has become a shinigami but their desire to be united with her again is so strong that they use the scythe to erase Rukia's existence from the memories of all.

Answer: Abarai Renji

Abarai Renji is the lieutenant of the 6th Division and the childhood friend of Rukia. Renji has always been very close to Rukia and has developed strong ties with Ichigo. At first, Renji believes Ichigo to be the enemy who has attacked the Sereitei but from deep within him, his guts tell him that Ichigo is not the true enemy and he starts having flashes of memories shared with Ichigo and Rukia.

The bonds that unite Renji to Ichigo and Rukia are strong enough, and this leads him to defend Ichigo from Hitsugaya's attack.

As for Kuchiki Byakuya, he does not really recognise Ichigo or Rukia but he could feel that something is missing. He remembers a conversation with his wife, which makes him conduct research until he discovers his wife had a sister.

When he meets Rukia, he does not recognise her, though her resemblance with Hisana is a shocking fact for him.

Answer: Urahara Kisuke

Urahara Kisuke is the former 12th Division Captain and the creator of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute before he is sent into exile. Since then, he establishes a shop in the town of Karakura, where Ichigo lives. Urahara is a strange character; he always wears a hat, a cloak and wooden sandals.

He is the one who helps Ichigo to enter the Soul Society. He plays an important role in the movie as he is the one who explains what really happened to Kurotsuchi and the attacks on Sereitei.

It should be noted that Urahara also has forgotten about Ichigo and Rukia but as he says in the movie, he keeps a record on everything that happens around him.

Answer: They merge with Rukia.

They merge with Rukia so no one will remember her, nor will Rukia remember anyone. The merging is an attempt to become one with Rukia as they want Rukia to remain with only them. After the merging, Rukia becomes the hollow and she loses her personality and can no more control her body.

When she speaks, it is with the voice of the siblings and when she attacks Ichigo, it is actually the siblings who are attacking him.

Answer: She becomes the dark Rukia.

Rukia becomes the hollow and is referred as the dark Rukia - even her reiatsu becomes black. Her appearance changes completely, her face becomes white and she is dressed in a tattered white kimono.

Answer: He stabs her and shares his powers with her.

Just like Rukia did when she shared her powers with Ichigo at the start of the anime, Ichigo also shares his powers with Rukia. Sharing is done when Ichigo stabs Rukia. It is the only way to save her and snap her out of that hollowfied state, as well as kill the original hollow to separate the siblings from Rukia.

Answer: Homura & Shizuku

Back when they were in Rukongai, Rukia wanted to name the siblings Homura and Shizuku, but when they were attacked by the possessed shinigami, she completely forgot the names. As the siblings were always together, Rukia admired their bond and thought these names would suit them perfectly.
