1. In the movie 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', which character uses the harsh line stating, "They're not really people," when making reference to the Jews?

Answer: Ralf

Ralf is a very staunch Nazi supporter. Near the beginning of the movie, he gets a promotion and the family moves to the country where Ralf takes charge of a concentration camp. Ralf's mother does not agree with the staunch Nazi regime.
2. Pavel is one of the Jews taken prisoner and is used as a servant for the family when they move to the country from the city. What was Pavel's job before he became a prisoner?

Answer: Doctor

Pavel was a doctor before he was captured by the Nazis. This is revealed when Bruno falls off the swing and injures his leg. Pavel bandages Bruno's leg for him.
3. What is the name of the boy in the striped pyjamas that Bruno meets and forms a friendship with?

Answer: Shmuel

Bruno first encounters Shmuel when he goes exploring. Shmuel is sitting alone by the barbed wire fence that surrounds the concentration camp. Shmuel is taken to the family house later in the movie to help clean the glasses because he has small hands.

Kotler gets up from the table and pushes Pavel out the door where he beats and kicks him. Pavel is not seen in the movie again. Bruno is very upset about this attack because his father Ralf just sat there and let the beating happen.

Bruno discovers all of Gretel's dolls in a pile in the basement. Gretel tells Bruno that dolls are for children and she has new interests now. Gretel has transformed her bedroom with posters of Adolf Hitler and Nazi propaganda.

Answer: He dies in the gas chamber.

Bruno does not want to leave his new friend and move away with his mother. He runs to the concentration camp and digs under the fence to get in. Shmuel brings him some striped pyjamas to wear. Bruno wanted to help Shmuel find his missing father. Bruno and Shmuel are taken to the gas chamber with a group of Jews and they die.
