Ang Lee has directed other movies such as "Sense and Sensibility", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Hulk". As his name suggest, he is from Taiwan, but now works in the U.S.

Answer: shaving

Jack's standing at his truck, shaving, when Aguirre arrives. This is in the very beginning of the movie, and Ennis and Jack have not even introduced themselves to each other yet.

The fight leaves Ennis with a bloody shirt, which he thinks he has lost. Later in the movie, after the death of Jack, he finds it at Jack's parents' home, in his old room.

Joseph Fiennes liked the story so much though, that he contacted three different directors about starring in the film, but obviously he was unsuccessful, and didn't land a role in the movie. He has starred in other movies such as "Shakespeare in Love".

Cassie and Ennis dated for a while, but Ennis never really paid that much attention to her. Later Cassie found Ennis at a diner and she told him how much she really loved him, and that he had actually really hurt her.

In the movie, we don't really hear a lot about Jenny, but Alma Jr had a bigger part. For example, we hear about her engagement at the end of the movie. Alma Jr was, of course, named after her mother, Ennis' wife.

When he gets the postcard he calls Jack's wife, and she tells him how Jack supposedly died, but we see some scenes that indicate that she is lying, and that he was, in fact, killed. He was probably killed because someone found out about his sexuality.

He says that, when Jack complains about the weather being too cold and wanting to go to Mexico. It is a funny line, that shows us a part of his personality because, earlier in the movie, he seems very quiet and mysterious, unlike Jack.

Alma, to her great distress, walks out and sees them kissing, very passionately! She doesn't confront Ennis about anything, before or after they are divorced, she just keeps it to herself, even though it was obviously very hurtful to her.
When they were filming this scene, Heath Ledger supposedly broke Jake Gyllenhaal's nose, because they were so rough with each other.

The movie ends with Ennis standing in his trailer, looking at the two shirts of his and Jack's. Earlier in the movie, Ennis found the two shirts at Jacks parents. Then, Jacks shirt was outside Ennis'. In the final scene, they arranged the shirts so that it was the other way around. That was Heath Ledger's own idea.
