Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The movie centered on three fighters from very different backgrounds entering into a martial arts tournament. Lee was a Shaolin fighter, Roper was a compulsive gambler, and Williams was a man too full of himself to care about anything else. Although each got an invitation, different motivations caused the three men to go. Which of the following was not a given reason why they entered the tournament?

Answer: Lee was sent to murder Han and destroy his island fortress.

Lee was hired by the government to track down a heroin and sex-trade operation at Han's island fortress. Roper left because he was in debt. He was in it so badly that the mob actually attacked him while he was at a golf course. Little did they know, that he knew how to defend himself. Williams left his school because of the invitation but before he could get to the airport, two racist police officers pulled up beside him.

They said that they couldn't let him go to Hong Kong because he'd go to Hawaii.

Their repeated use of a particular racist term enraged Williams and forced him to beat up the two officers.
2. According to the government official, Mr. Braithwaite, what was the name of the agency's contact, on the island?

Answer: Mei Ling

Lee's job was to find drugs, but the agency also told him to find Mei Ling because they lost contact with her and began to get worried. Lee found her and, as it turned out, she was in disguise as one of Han's bodyguards.
3. During a flashback sequence, Lee was drinking tea with his aging mentor. The man told him that during Han's last tournament, he was with one of Lee's relatives when Han's men attacked them. The old man cut the strongest goon, Oharra, however he beat the old man and forced Lee's relative to commit suicide. What relation did the person have to Lee?

Answer: Lee's sister

After Oharra was cut by a knife over his left eye, a life or death situation arose for Lee's sister. She fought valiantly against the attackers, but eventually ended up in a warehouse with no exit plan. Due to the fact that she did not want to be caught by men like Oharra, she grabbed a shard of broken glass, and impaled herself with it.
4. Roper, living up to his gambling ways, lost yet another heap of money on an insect fight. After losing, an arrogant fighter from New Zealand began picking on the ship's crew. He tried to intimidate Lee, but to no avail. He inquired as to what style Lee practiced. What was Lee's response?

Answer: The art of fighting without fighting

The fighter from New Zealand, named Parsons, could not intimidate Lee so he wondered what was up. Lee demonstrated the art of fighting without fighting by fooling the man. Lee said there wasn't enough room and that they'd take the ship's lifeboat to a nearby island and train.

The man agreed and went onto the boat. Lee untied the boat and gave the rope to the children to play with the cruel man.
5. Immediately after Williams' fight, and a successful gambling victory, it was Roper's turn to fight. To make the most money, via 8 to 3 odds, he decided to do something that would make the Asian gambler foolishly agree to it. What was that?

Answer: Roper was purposely losing to make it look like the other man would win the bet.

Roper purposely told Williams to wait until the fight looked bad enough for him to accept the bet. Before that point, Roper's young opponent landed some impressive hits, that consistently knocked him to the ground. After Williams accepted the bet, Roper took three hits to defeat his opponent, much to everyone's surprise.
6. During the first night, Lee went to do the job he was sent for. Using some stealthy tactics, Lee ventured around the island. Did he find what he was looking for?

Answer: Yes

As Lee searched the island, he found a trap-door in the courtyard. He opened it and saw what seemed to be a factory. He hitched a rope over the nearby wall and he rappelled himself down. He discovered the truth and began to go back up when a guard began to saw at his rope. Lee quickly got to the top and beat him up before four more guards turned up. Lee made short work of them.

Unfortunately, due to Lee's stealthiness, the scapegoat for the incident was Williams, because he was outside, at the time getting fresh air.
7. Lee's first fight, of the tournament pitted him against Oharra. Oharra tried to show off his toughness by breaking a board, but Lee was not impressed. Ultimately, Oharra disgraced Han when he was killed trying to do what?

Answer: Jab Lee with two broken bottles

To start the fight, Lee landed three unanswered back-fists. Angered by that, Oharra grabbed Lee's feet. Lee did a back flip to kick Oharra. Oharra tried a jumping side kick after that, but Lee dropped down and raised his foot into Oharra's groin. The man tried some side kicks, which Lee intercepted with spinning kicks. Lee followed those up with a very powerful side kick. Angered by that and incredibly weakened, Oharra grabbed two bottles, broke them, and then proceeded towards Lee. Lee broke Oharra's right arm with a kick, and then kicked him in the face.

After he was done, Lee jumped and delivered the final blow, breaking Oharra's neck.
8. Upon the defeat of Oharra, Han stormed away from the fight, angry and frustrated. Soon afterwards, Han had sent for one of the three men to meet him in his study. Which of the three were summoned?

Answer: Williams

Williams originally had no idea why Han wanted to talk to him. When he arrived at Han's office, he slowly caught on to the fact that Han was accusing him of fighting the guards, the previous night. Williams, outraged by that, got back by telling Han that he was like a comic book character. Three guards entered the room to try and defeat Williams, but Williams effortlessly defeated them. Han, losing his last ounce of patience, finally joined the fight. Han used his metal left hand to beat up and then murder Williams. Just minutes later, he exposed his actions to Roper.
9. To signal the agency that sent him, Lee travelled into the depths of Han's compound to look for a radio room. He found it, but also found two guards within it. Not wanting to blow his cover, he sent in a certain dangerous animal to clear the room. What kind of animal was it?

Answer: A snake

The second time Lee went to the trap door, guards had placed a snake there so nobody would go near there. Lee put the snake in a sack, and once again went down. He discovered the disturbing truth that Han was creating drugs and testing them on his women, so he could export them as sex-slaves. Lee called his agency after distracting the guards, and then defeated a large portion of Han's army.

He was eventually caught.
10. How was Han, the primary antagonist, eventually killed?

Answer: Impaled by a spear

After the death of Bolo, Han's toughest soldier, Han ordered a full immobilization of his martial arts students. The students were distracted with some recently freed prisoners. Lee went to fight Han, who had changed his metal hand into one with spikes. Lee was cut multiple times.

The fight led them from the courtyard, into Han's museum, and ultimately to a room filled with mirrors. Han fought treacherously until Lee broke all of the mirrors, in the room, and then kicked Han. Han flew into a spear, and it instantly killed him.
