One song, "I'll Wake You Up When I Get Home", hit number three in 1979. It is Rich's last Top Ten single. He is known for such early seventies hits as "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" and "Behind Closed Doors". "Behind Closed Doors" plays in the background when Clint brings Clyde to the zoo. Sondra Locke performs musical numbers in the film. Sondra Locke was Clint's real life love interest at the time. Mel Tillis has a bit part in the movie singing "Coca-Cola Cowboy". Phil Everly of the Everly Brothers also has an uncredited role as a singer performing a duet with Sondra Locke.

Echo leaves her fruit stand and accompanies Clint and Lewis on their trip to Denver. In addition to being Lewis' love interest, she always seems to find a way to help the guys out whenever they get in a jam. A versatile singer, Beverly toured Canada with a band called Elephant.

She also sings all her songs in "Coal Miner's Daughter", in which she plays the late Patsy Cline. She is probably better known as Chevy Chase's wife in the "Vacation" movie series. Janet Cole Notey plays Janet Cole, a customer at the Palomino Club. Jan Stratton plays a waitress in a diner scene.

Thelma Pelish is an overbearing customer at Echo's fruit stand. She made her film debut in 1957's "The Pajama Game".

Ma Boggs is a cussing, frustrated character who provides comic relief throughout the movie with her intolerance for Clint's orangutan. She is constantly trying to pass her driving test by wearing wigs and not wearing her glasses so she looks younger. She also single-handedly fights off the motorcycle gang with a shotgun. Ruth Gordon is not only an accomplished actress, she has numerous credits as a stage and film writer.

Her final role is in "The Trouble With Spies" in 1987. Helen Hayes is considered the first lady of American theater and is Larry Hagman's mother. Joyce Jameson plays Sybil in the movie and appears as guest spots in television show episodes since the early fifties.

She also plays Rose in Eastwood's "The Outlaw Josie Wales". Comedienne Imogene Coca plays Aunt Edna in the first Chevy Chase "Vacation" movie.

Answer: Street Sweeper

When Clint chases the biker gang to the railroad crossing, Clyde bails out of the pickup and commandeers a street sweeper while Clint chases the bikers on foot. He drives it all the way to the loading dock and crashes into crates of produce. Gerald Brutsche plays the sweeper driver.

He is an in-demand stunt man who began in 1961 on a "Bonanza" episode and has performed stunts on over 130 television episodes and movies. He is also a member of the recurring motorcycle gang "The Rats" in several of the Annette and Frankie Beach Party movies.

Hank also provides some moments of humor as he keeps explaining to various characters that Locke's character has left and he doesn't know where she's gone. While his part is brief it is unique and memorable. Hank appears with John Wayne in 14 movies.

He broke his neck in a horse fall in his 20s, but didn't realize it until he was in his 40s. He was selected from a rodeo at Madison Square Garden to appear in the Broadway play "Green Grow the Lilacs". His first movie appearance is an uncredited role in 1935's "Barbary Coast". Jackson D. Kane briefly appears in the bowling alley scene. Fritz Manes plays a bartender at the Zanzibar. Tom Runyon is a bartender at the Palomino Club that Clint frequents and where he meets Sondra Locke.

"Denver" Tank Murdock is referred to occasionally in the beginning of the flick as an icon in the brawling game. He only appears in the climax fight scene of the movie. Although Clint is clearly beating Tank, he takes a fall so Tank can save face. Tank is played by Walter Barnes. Before beginning his acting career he was a professional football for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1948-1951.

He began his career in pictures in the 1957 film "Westbound". He usually has supporting roles as lawmen or villains.

He was in "Captain Sinbad", John Wayne's "Cahill, US Marshal" and Clint's "High Plains Drifter". He plays Bo Svenson's father on the 80s TV series "Walking Tall". Al Silvani plays his manager in the movie. Al trained heavyweight boxer Tami Mauriello for his 1946 title fight with Joe Louis.

In the late 1960s, he trained World Middleweight Boxing Champion Nino Benvenuti for 5 fights. He was also a close friend of Frank Sinatra.

The biker gang chases Clint all the way to Denver. When they get there Clint has a humorous battle with them in a parody of his spaghetti westerns. The actual setting for the fight scene is the historic Georgetown area of Denver. John Quade plays the gang leader and was in "High Plains Drifter" and "The Outlaw Josey Wales" with Clint.

He is in many television movies and mini series including "Roots". Many of the biker gang actors also appear in Clint's movies as various outlaws or characters. They include such accomplished stunt men as Scott Dockstader, (Clint's double in "Sudden Impact") and Gene LeBell, who is in over 250 movies and TV shows dating to 1950. Chuck Waters is a veteran of over 68 films and Jerry Wills has been doing movie stunts since 1970.

Clint relates in the movie that he had seen Clyde in a desert zoo and pitied him because he was caged and being mistreated. He then arranged for a bare knuckle fight against four men and won him.
Clyde's real name is Manis. He appears as the main ape in the 1981 movie "Going Ape!". Clint explains to Ma Boggs that he's not an ape, he's an orangutan because of the number of ribs. Clyde keeps eating Ma Boggs' Oreos and has a knack for always upsetting her.

In the opening credits we see him driving a truck to a warehouse then leaving work. On the way home he stops at a bar and gets into a fight over the free peanuts with a customer sitting next to him. Clint's character is a gentle mannered guy who displays a killer instinct when he fights.

His friend Orville drives a tow truck. Geoffrey Lewis plays Orville Boggs. Geoffrey has appeared in over 200 movies and television episodes starting in 1970 with "Then Came Bronson". He appears with Clint in "High Plains Drifter", "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot", "Bronco Billy" and "Pink Cadillac" as well as the sequel to "Every Which Way But Loose", "Any Which Way You Can".

Answer: Kincaid

Kincaid is played by William Quinn. While the principal characters are on the road trip they need to set up a fight for spending cash. Lewis arranges the fight but warns Eastwood that Kincaid is a dirty fighter. When Kincaid is getting beat he tries to hit Clint with a meat hanger.

After Clint wins the fight the employees try to renege until D'Angelo's character fires a round into a side of beef. Quinn's acting credits go back to television's "Mr. Ed". "Every Which Way But Loose" is his last big screen appearance.

His manager is played by Cary Michael Cheifer. "Every Which Way But Loose" is also Cary's final big screen appearance. George Chandler plays the clerk at the DMV where Ma Boggs keeps trying to get her license.
