Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the first name of Ben's dad?

Answer: Patrick

When the FBI invaded Patrick's home after Ben, Riley and Abigail left, one of the police officers told the chief that the car stolen was registered to Patrick Gates.
2. What was the name of the ship that Ben had to find first?

Answer: Charlotte

At the beginning, his grandfather told Ben that 'The secret lies with Charlotte'. Ben figured out the location of the Charlotte and eventually found the word 'CHARLOTTE' under the ice.
3. What did the FBI think Ben meant by Door Number Three?

Answer: Escaping

Chief Sadusky told Ben the options of punishments for stealing the Declaration of Independence. 'Door number one, you go to prison for a very long time. Door number two, we get the Declaration back and you go to prison for a very long time'. Ben told the FBI that he had discovered Door Number Three and was going to take it, but he was only bluffing.
4. When Ben and Riley were telling Abigail about the treasure, she asked for proof of their evidence. They had none. Who did she assume took it?

Answer: Bigfoot

Ben needed to tell someone that Ian was going to steal the Declaration, so they went in to see Abigail using the names Paul Brown and Bill. Ben told her that someone was going to steal the Declaration. Eventually Ben told Abigail he believed that there was an invisible map on the back. Abigail asked Ben why he thought there was an invisible map, and he said that they had found a 200-year-old pipe with an inscription.

She asked for the pipe and they didn't have it. She asked 'Did Bigfoot take it?'. Ben then stood up and left.
5. Ben first went round to his father's house with Riley and Abigail to tell him that he had a problem. What was his father's first guess at what his problem was?

Answer: Abigail was pregnant

Ben had to go to his dad's house to hide from the FBI, look for the map on the Declaration, and get the Silence Dogood letters. When Ben, Riley and Abigail arrived at Patrick's door, Ben said 'Dad, I'm in trouble' and his dad thought that he meant Abigail was pregnant.

She was rather offended by this remark, so Ben replied 'If she is, would you leave the mother of your grandchild out in the cold?' Patrick let them in, and left Abigail feeling fat.
6. Near the Liberty Bell, at what modern time did Ben, Abigail and Riley have to watch for the shadow?

Answer: 3:22pm

'All right! What I know is that daylight savings wasn't established until World War 1. If it's 3pm now that means that in 1776 it would be 2pm.' They had thought that they had missed the shadow but then Riley came up with this very interesting information.
7. At the bottom of Trinity Church, Ben's dad told Ian the next 'fake' clue. Which city did he tell Ian to go to?

Answer: Boston

Everyone thought it was a dead end and the only way out was going on a 200-year-old elevator. Ian threatened to shoot Ben if he didn't tell him the next clue. Ben's dad feared his son's death, and told Ian that the lantern in the stone room represented a lantern lit in Boston.
8. Did Abigail trust Ben under the church?

Answer: Yes

Ian, Ben, Riley, Abigail, Ben's dad, and Ian's sidekicks were making their way down to the bottom of Liberty Hall on the 200 year old rickety wooden floors. The floor broke and everyone had to get to somewhere safe. Abigail was about to fall off the floor but Ben got hold of her.

The Declaration was about to fall off as well. 'Do you trust me?' 'Yes'. Ben dropped her safely onto another floor and managed to save the Declaration as well.
9. Who was chasing Ben when he ran on the top of a building, and had to stop because he couldn't get off?

Answer: Phil

When Phil asked Ben for the Declaration, which was in a leather cylinder, Ben agreed. 'Okay, Phil'. He then threw the cylinder to Phil, but he had to jump and grab it before it fell off the building. Phil opened the cylinder and found there was no document.
10. Who first suggested Daylight Savings?

Answer: Benjamin Franklin

Riley was telling Ben and Abigail about Daylight Savings being invented in 1776. He really liked the feeling that he knew something that Ben and Abigail didn't. When he asked them whether they knew who suggested it, they both knew.
