2. What famous actor played Ben's father?

Answer: Riley

Riley is a tech nerd. Ian is the "leader" of the rival group. Riley and Ben barely make it out of the Charlotte before it explodes.

Answer: Henry

Patrick Henry was an important person in the American Revolution. "Give me liberty or give me death" is Henry's most famous quote.
5. In 1832, Charles Carroll (96 years of age and the last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence) gave Thomas Gates the first clue to the treasure. He told him that the secret lies with what?

Answer: Charlotte

Thomas Gates was only ten years old at the time and was driving Carroll's carriage. He drove Carroll to the White House to deliver a message to Andrew Jackson, but Jackson was not there that night.
6. Ben is the first from his family to finally get a lead from the clue that Charles Carroll gave Thomas Gates. What is the clue?

Answer: The name of a ship

Ben finds the Charlotte buried in snow above the Arctic Circle. Here, he finds the pipe.
7. From Carroll's clue, Ben finds a pipe. This is no ordinary pipe. The pipe contains a riddle that leads to the next clue. What is this next clue?

Answer: Declaration of Independance

The Founding Fathers put the clue on the Declaration because they knew that since it was so important, it would last through time.
8. After learning where the next clue is, Ian parts from Ben and his accomplice (and tries to kill them) to go get the next clue. Why did this happen?

Answer: because Ben refused to steal this important document

After Ben told Ian that they could not steal the Declaration, Ian pulled a gun on him, and when the ship was going to blow up, Ian locked Ben and Riley in the cargo hold of the Charlotte. Luckily for Ben and Riley, he found a smuggler's hatch and escaped from the ship before it exploded.
9. Gates went to the National Archives, after being laughed at by the FBI, to inform them about Ian's intentions to steal an important document. Again, he was laughed at. Finish the quote that the woman from the National Archives (Diane Kruger) said after Gates told her that they did not have the pipe with them: "Did ______ take it?"

Answer: Big Foot

This quote was one of the funny moments in the movie, although many felt sympathy for Gates. After the Declaration is stolen, FBI Agent Sadusky asks about a tip given to them about someone stealing the Declaration of Independence. He was not pleased to find out that they found the tip irrelevant and did not document it.
10. After Ben steals this document from the National Archives, the next clue is in the Silence Dogood letters. Silence Dogood was supposedly a middle-aged woman from the 1700s, but this was no woman. It was this famous person who wrote these letters under the penname Silence Dogood during his teenage years.

Answer: Franklin

The clue was inside the letters. Letters from certain parts of the notes had to be pulled out and put together to form a sentence that would lead to the next clue.
11. The clue from the Silence Dogood letters led Ben to this historic place for the next clue.

Answer: Independence Hall

Independence Hall is where the Declaration of Independence was signed. The glasses that Ben Frankin made were found inside a hollow brick on the roof of Independence Hall.
12. Ben originally thinks that he will have to wait another day to get the clue from above since it was 3:00 at the time and the clue required them to be there at 2:22. But his accomplice reminds him that they are not too late since Daylight Savings Time was not first implemented until which war?

Answer: World War I

Daylight Savings Time was first used in 1918. The primary reason was to save fuel by reducing the time that artificial lighting is used to light buildings.
13. The clue Ben finds at 2:22 is a pair of glasses that are designed to see invisible writing. Using these glasses, Ben finds out that next he has to go to Trinity Church. In what city is Trinity Church located?

Answer: New York City

Trinity Church is at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway. They had to go to the boiler room, then through the tomb of Parkington Lane in order to find the stairwell that led to the treasure room which, according to Ben, is five stories underground.
14. Ben realizes that the treasure is under Trinity Church, but he refuses to reveal it. Ben's dad throws off Ian with a fake lead. Where does Ben's dad lead Ian, using the winding stairwell and lantern as fake clues?

Answer: Old North Church

Ben's dad took advantage of Ian's lack of knowledge in US history to throw him off. After the treasure was found, Ben led Agent Sadusky to Old North Church which is where he could find Ian and arrest him.
15. After the treasure is found, Ben decides to donate most of it to museums through out the world. What percent of the treasure's value does Ben keep for himself?

Answer: 1%

Riley is upset with Ben by the fact that Ben did not keep more for themselves. Ironically, he says this as he drives off in his new car.
