Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who played Kate?

Answer: Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon played Kate. The first time I saw Reese was in a movie called "Man in the Moon" (1991). The movies that made her famous were "Legally Blonde" (2001) and "Sweet Home Alabama" (2002).
2. What was the real name of Brad, played by Vince Vaughn?

Answer: Orlando

Both of Brad's brothers were named after the city they were conceived in. His siblings' names were Denver and Dallas. They were played by Jon Favreau and Tim McGraw respectively.
3. What was the name of the actress who played Brad's mother, Paula?

Answer: Sissy Spacek

Sissy Spacek played Brad's mother. She played the title role in "Carrie" (1976). She also played Loretta Lynn in "Coal Miner's Daughter" (1980). Sissy, along with Jon Voight, Robert Duvall and Mary Steenburgen, have also won Academy Awards prior to this movie.
4. Robert Duvall starred as Kate's father.

Answer: False

Robert Duvall played Howard McVie. Howard was Brad's father and was divorced from Brad's mother, Paula. When we met Brad's family, Brad did not want to get married at all. When Brad visited his dad at the end of the movie, he did not want to end up lonely like his Dad.
5. What was Kate's nickname?

Answer: Cootie Katie

Kate was not happy to be called "Cootie Katie". Even her sister, Courtney (played by Kristin Chenoweth), called her that when she was young. This was something that Kate did not share with Brad.
6. What city was this movie set in?

Answer: San Francisco

San Francisco was the locale for this movie. There were quite a few shots of the Golden Gate Bridge at the beginning of the movie as the fog rolled in. Their plane was cancelled due to the fog. This lead them to be filmed at the airport. Their family then knew that they were not going away to do charitable work.
7. What happened to Brad when he saw someone vomit?

Answer: He almost vomited.

Brad was a co-barfer. When he was around someone who vomited, he gagged and almost threw up as well. When Kate was holding her nephew after a feeding, he threw up all over her and Brad said, "He was going to do it too."
8. What game did Brad and Kate play with Denver, Susan, Brad's mother and her boyfriend?

Answer: Taboo

It was very entertaining watching the group play "Taboo". It was very funny to see Denver and Susan answer the questions quickly while Brad and Kate had a very difficult time answering the questions.
9. Name one location where Brad and Kate were supposed to visit.

Answer: Burma

Brad referred to Burma as an Asian "island nation". It is not an island. The southern border is its only coastal border. An island is typically a piece of land surrounded by water on all sides. Since both Brad and Kate were lying about where they were going to spend their Christmas, they didn't even bother making sure their story worked out.
10. On what day was Brad and Kate's daughter born?

Answer: New Year's Day

Brad and Kate welcomed their daughter on New Year's Day. The movie ended as it started with a camera crew videotaping them as they tried to hide something from their families (again).
