Answer: William Holden

William Holden (1918-1981) played the role of a middle aged divorcee who falls for the much younger free spirited Edith Alice "Breezy" Breezerman (Kay Lenz). Holden starred in some of Hollywood's major productions including "The Wild Bunch", "Sunset Boulevard", "The Bridge on the River Kwai", and "The Towering Inferno". He won an Academy Award for Best Actor as J.J. Sefton in "Stalag 17" (1953).
Burt Lancaster (1913-1994), Robert Ryan (1909-1973) and Robert Mitchum (1917-1997) were all major movie actors in the '50s and '60s.

Answer: Honkytonk Man

Kyle was 14 years old in 1982 when he played opposite Clint in this movie. Red Stovall (Clint) takes his nephew Whit (Kyle) on a ride to Nashville where he (Red) has the opportunity to make it big as a country singer at the Grand Ole Opry. Red suffers from tuberculosis and has coughing bouts during his audition.

However, he impresses some talent scouts to offer him a recording session. Sadly, Red dies at the end of the movie but Whit (Kyle) has had a trip of a lifetime. In his latter years, Kyle himself has become an accomplished jazz bass musician. "Bronco Billy" (1980) was also directed by and starred Clint, with Sondra Locke also starring.

In "A Perfect World" (1993) an eight year old boy played by T.J. Loether is befriended by the character played by Kevin Costner. "Tightrope" (1984) starred Clint, and his daughter Alison Eastwood played his daughter Amanda Block in the movie. Alison was 12 years of age at the time of the movie and she has since become a director, fashion model and designer.

Answer: Sudden Impact

"Sudden Impact" (1983) was the fourth in the series with the character Inspector "Dirty" Harry Callahan with Sondra Locke also starring in the movie. The movie is probably best known for the phrase "Go ahead, make my Day". "Magnum Force" (1973) was directed by Ted Post, "The Enforcer" (1976) by James Fargo and "The Dead Pool" (1988) by Buddy Van Horn.

The first of this series of movies was "Dirty Harry (1971) and was directed by Don Siegel.

Wilson, while on location starts neglecting his preparations for the film as he becomes obsessed with hunting elephants. He eventually realises it is a sin to kill these beautiful animals. In the movie Pete Verrill is played by Jeff Faley, Ralph Lockhart by Alun Armstrong and Paul Landers by George Dzundza.

Answer: Meryl Streep

For her performance in this movie Meryl Streep received a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress but lost out to Susan Sarandon in "Dead Man Walking". Meryl Streep (b. 1949) is a very accomplished actress who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in "Kramer vs Kramer" (1979), Best Actress in "Sophie's Choice" (1982) and in "The Iron Lady" (2011).

She has also had numerous nominations for other roles in movies. Sondra Locke appeared in six movies opposite her then partner Clint Eastwood between 1976-1983. Carrie Snodgress played Sarah Wheeler in "Pale Rider" (1985) and Hilary Swank played Margaret "Maggie" Fitzgerald in "Million Dollar Baby" (2004).

Answer: Disguised as a police officer

Unbeknown to Luther there are two snipers in position to shoot him outside the cafe, however, they miss with their shots and under his overcoat he has a police uniform and escapes due to the confusion caused by the shootings as the police were alerted to the set-up.

His daughter was played by Laura Linney. E.G. Marshall (1914-1998) plays the role of the billionaire Walter Sullivan and this was his the last screen role. The movie also starred Gene Hackman, Ed Harris and Scott Glenn.

Answer: World War II

The movie is based upon the 1945 Battle of Iwo Jima which depicts that famous photo of servicemen raising the Star Spangled Banner on Iwo Jima. The movie follows the lives of the five Marines and the Naval corpsman who raised the flag and the effect that incident or event had on their lives.

Answer: Tim Robbins

Tim Robbins (b. 1958) is not only an actor but also a director, producer and musician. He has starred in some memorable movies including "Bull Durham", "Jacob's Ladder", "The Player", and "The Shawshank Redemption". Robbins' role in the movie is of a traumatised man who was molested as a child. Sean Penn played James "Jimmy" Markum in the movie and won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

This was the first occasion since "Ben Hur" (1959) that the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor were from the same movie. Kevin Bacon played Detective Sean Devine in the movie. Clint Eastwood did not act in the movie but directed, co-produced and wrote the musical score.

Answer: The Four Seasons

The Four Seasons were originally known as The Four Lovers but changed their name when they were inspired by a bowling alley sign. The movie tells their story from the early 1950s to their induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Their first big hit was "Sherry" followed by "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Walk Like a Man".

The lead singer of the group was Frankie Valli, played by John Lloyd Young. Clint directed and co-produced the movie. The Platters were formed in Los Angeles in 1952, The Drifters were from New York City and formed in the early 1950s and The Shadows were a British group from London originating in the late 1950s and were a backing group for Cliff Richard.

Answer: Christine Collins

Angelina Jolie won a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role of Christine Collins but lost out to Kate Winslet in the "The Reader". "Changeling" takes place in the late 1920s and early 1930s and in the epilogue at the end of the movie it stated that Christine Collins never gave up looking for her missing son.

It also stated that Rev. Briegleb (John Malkovich), who assisted Christine Collins, continued to discuss police misconduct and political corruption on his radio show. Angelina Jolie played Lara Croft a heroine in a video game and Marianne Pearl in the 1997 drama "A Mighty Heart". For her role as Lisa Rowe in "Girl, Interrupted", she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
