Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Let's start off with the very first invention we saw. It mixed two ingredients together, and then spread it on two slices of toasted bread. Lewis took it to show the family interviewing him for adoption, but Mr. Harrington was allergic to one of the ingredients and had to be rushed to the hospital! What were the two ingredients?

Answer: Peanut Butter and Jelly

Mr. Harrington was allergic to the peanuts in the peanut butter and jelly sandwich maker. Lewis was trying to show them when the hoses plugged, and the couple slowly backed away until POP! The room was splattered with peanut butter and jelly, and Mr. Harrington got a faceful. He needed an epi pen and then a trip to the emergency room.
2. After a heartwrenching scene on the rooftop, Lewis got his brilliant idea: build a memory scanner to see what his mother looked like! It wasn't long before the Science Fair came around, and Wilbur came into the picture. He accosted Lewis, asking him if he'd seen a "bowler hat guy". What agency did Wilbur say he was part of?

Answer: Time Continuum Task Force

Wilbur flashed a "badge" at Lewis while they were holed up under the blanket covering the Memory Scanner, but we later found out that it was really only a coupon for a tanning salon. He said he was part of the T.C.T.F., and Lewis asked what the letters meant.

It stood for Time Continuum Task Force which, if it was real, sounded like it could've been a legitimate name for such an agency.
3. So after another rooftop scene involving fake pigeons and bubbles around the time machine, Wilbur and Lewis went to the future! They saw all kinds of inventions in Todayland, including transport bubbles and Carl the robot. Then, Lewis met the family. Who did Wilbur say that Cornelius looked like?

Answer: Tom Selleck

After a tour around the home with Bud, Lewis and Wilbur literally run into each other, and Wilbur asked where Lewis had been. When Lewis said that he'd met the family, Wilbur gave him a pop quiz on who he'd met and what he knew about each of them. When Lewis asks what Cornelius looked like (as he'd never met the patriarch of the Robinson family), Wilbur replied, after a moment of thought, "Tom Selleck". They had a lot of family living in one house!

The family is as follows:

Bud, Fritz, and Joe were brothers. Fritz was married to Petunia, and Laszlo and Tallulah were their children. Joe was married to Billie. Dmitri and Spike were twins, but no one was sure who they were related to. Bud was married to Lucille, and their son was Cornelius. Franny was married to Cornelius, and her brothers were Art and Gaston. And last but not least, Wilbur was the son of Cornelius and Franny.
4. What was the phrase Wilbur kept repeating during Lewis' monologue that he couldn't fix the time machine?

Answer: Keep Moving Forward

Keep Moving Forward was the motto of the Robinson family and the movie itself. It's actually a quote in real life, from the Big Man himself:

"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." -Walt Disney

Wilbur, in the movie, said that it was his father's motto, and later at dinner, Carl and the family made a presentation about it when Lewis failed to fix the PB and J maker.
5. At dinner that night, the family was pressuring Lewis to take off his hat to see if he was related to Sam Gunderson. Wilbur, in an effort to keep them from finding out who Lewis really looked like, threw a meatball at Gaston. Whom did he blame it on?

Answer: Franny

Wilbur pointed to Franny, since she was putting the most pressure on Lewis at the time. The scene then faded, and Franny and Gaston had a food fight reminiscent of some Japanese anime cartoons converted to to the English language, for viewing in America.
6. Turned out, Doris and Bowler Hat Guy (as we still knew him as) were back in the future, and were still looking for Lewis! But they'd split up, and Bowler Hat Guy had a brilliant plan: bring back a dinosaur! But afterwards, when Franny decided they should adopt Lewis, Wilbur knocked Lewis' hat off to reveal Lewis' hair. But they decided to adopt him anyway, right?

Answer: No

No, Franny said they couldn't adopt Lewis, but they don't give him a reason why. Bowler Hat Guy was revealed to be Mike Yagoobian, also known as Goob, Lewis' old roommate at the orphanage. We discovered this after Lewis fixed his Memory Scanner, at the behest of Goob.
7. Carl warned that this would happen earlier in the movie. He even ran the odds: there was a 99.99999% chance of this event happening. Turns out, he was right - in a way. What did he say would happen that did?

Answer: Wilbur wouldn't exist.

Earlier, when Lewis and Bud were wandering around the house looking for either the garage or Bud's teeth, Wilbur caught up to Carl, who was looking for Franny. Carl calculated the odds, and ended up with the 99.99999% chance of Wilbur no longer existing. Later, this did happen, when Goob signed the contract for Doris the Helping Hat.

But Lewis set things right, and Wilbur came back into existence.
8. Lewis eventually figured out that he was Wilbur's father. He then showed Goob (as Bowler Hat Guy was revealed to be) what would've happened if he'd signed the contract for the Helping Hats. Wilbur then came back. But what did Lewis have to threaten Wilbur with to make him behave around Goob?

Answer: That Lewis was his father.

Lewis threatened Wilbur with a muttered, "May I remind you, I'm your father, and you have to do what I say." Wilbur then turned around to offer Goob a place in the Robinson family, only to find that Goob was gone, leaving his binder in the grass. The last thing on the checklist, the only one unchecked and not scribbled out, was a box with a question mark next to it.
9. In the end though, all of Wilbur's efforts were for naught, as Cornelius found out anyway. The Father of the Future was pretty all right with it, all things considered, and even took Lewis up to his workshop. Then, Cornelius showed him the invention he was most proud of. Do you remember what it was?

Answer: The Memory Scanner

Cornelius' favorite invention was the Memory Scanner, even though it didn't work the first time Lewis tried using it at the science fair. Cornelius said that, "It was our first real invention. It was the one that started it all."

At the very end of the movie, right as the ending song began to play, we see that the Memory Scanner helped Lewis get one thing he wanted most: a family. It just wasn't the one he thought he would get.
10. Perhaps the most touching part of the movie was right before the very end, when Wilbur took Lewis back to the time of Lewis' mom dropping him off at the orphanage. In the end, though, as much as Lewis wanted to see his mom, he never did. Right?

Answer: Yes

Lewis never did see his mom, at least as far as we know, but we did find out that he was the one to knock on the door so his baby self wouldn't be stuck in the rain all night. Instead of trying it himself at the science fair, he had Dr. Krunklehorn use the memory scanner to show her wedding day. That's when we found out that she was married to Bud! It's then that it was revealed that Lucille and Bud adopted Cornelius, as they did with Lewis. But, as Bud said, he didn't look like a Lewis.

He looked more like a Cornelius, which is how Lewis got the name change.
