Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When asked by King Triopas "Who are you Soldier?" Achilles replied:

Answer: "Achilles, son of Peleus"

King Triopas asked this of Achilles, after Achilles wiped out Boagrius with one swing of his blade on the Thessaly battlegrounds. He inquired into Achilles' past and Achilles mentioned his father. King Triopas reluctantly joined Agamemnon's army after this.
2. Initially, King Menelaus wanted war with Troy.

Answer: False

Troy and Sparta fought for years. Then just when a pact was formed and peace arrived, Menelaus' wife Helen left with Paris, which caused the start of the Trojan War.
3. King Odysseus was King of ___________.

Answer: Ithaca

Achilles was originally a soldier from Odysseus' army before they merged with Agamemnon. Odysseus was the only person who could control Achilles. That was his main purpose, other than fighting.
4. Eudorus was a _________.

Answer: Myrmidon Lieutenant

Eudorus was in charge of the Myrmidon (Achilles' private army) when Achilles was not around. Agamemnon had no control over the Myrmidon, Greece's fiercest warriors. They listened only to Achilles himself. You need to know the script very very well to know this.
5. Who was killed right in front of Apollo's temple?

Answer: Tecton

Achilles threw an impossible spear throw directly into Tecton's throat. He was captain of a batallion of Hector's army. Later, Hector told his wife, Andromache that he had never seen a spear thrown like that.
6. Who said "My army's never lost a battle yet!"?

Answer: King Agamemnon

Agamemnon, believing his army to be the best of the world, was reluctant to retreat. A combination of pelted arrows, multiple deaths, and Odysseus saying that the Greeks would have no army left, convinced him.
7. Which of the following stupid ideas did Prince Paris NOT execute?

Answer: Confronting Achilles in sword combat

Paris, although good hearted and spirited, never had many good ideas! In fact, his fleeing across the Agean with Helen ultimately led to his brother's death, his father's death, and the city of Troy's demise.
8. Who stopped watching Hector fight Achilles because she couldn't bear to watch Hector die?

Answer: Andromache

Andromache was Hector's wife and couldn't bear to watch him die. Helen consoled and calmed Andromache during the fight. Briseis was a prisoner of Achilles and did not watch the fight. Ineulsus was not a real character.
9. Achilles, exacting revenge, killed King Agamemnon

Answer: False

Agamemnon had been nothing but nasty and rotten to Achilles the entire movie. He always mocked him for being a soldier, and told him that he, the king, would be remembered throughout the ages, not a soldier such as Achilles. Even though Achilles swore earlier in the movie that he would look down upon Agamemnon's corpse and smile, he never got the chance. Briseis stabbed Agamemnon in his throat before Achilles could get to him.
10. Odysseus referred to Hector as:

Answer: "Tamer of horses"

Oddyseus narrated the last scene and mentioned how it should be said that he lived in the time of Hector, tamer of horses. He also said for it to be let known that he lived in the time of Achilles.
