Answer: One Last Dance

A prestigious, New York dance studio owner met a tragic death and the building was doomed for destruction. Travis (Swayze) objected to the demolition and made an effort to save it. It meant he had to put his differences aside to ask for assistance from two of his former and feuding dance partners.

The performance that ended their friendship and careers years ago, was the same that brought them back together again. Patrick's real-life wife, Lisa, wrote and directed "One Last Dance" (2003). She also performed next to her husband as his co-star.

Answer: Black Dog

After driving on an all-night run, Jack Crews (Swayze) fell asleep at the wheel behind his big rig. After a horrendous accident, he was indicted and sentenced to serve a two-year prison term. After an order of dismissal, the ex-convict took a mechanic job working on 18-wheelers.

However, overdue bills mounted up to more than his paycheck brought in. To add insult to injury, his license were revoked and he was not allowed to drive. Jack was approached by Red (Meat Loaf) and was offered a very pricey deal. Reluctantly, Jack accepted his offer to deliver goods from Georgia to New Jersey.

Although Jack was not thrilled with the idea, Red paired him with a want-a-be, country singer (Travis). When the journey from the south began, so did the unpredictable action. Orders had already been given to hijack the load of illegal AK-47 weapons.

When the raid became ineffective for Red's crew, an extended pursuit of various vehicles was mounted in an attempt to stop Jack. When Red realized his plan was not working, he had his men take Jack's wife and daughter hostage.

At the conclusion of "Black Dog" (1998), Jack was reunited with his family, his mortgage had been paid off and he got his license back.

Answer: Point Break

Patrick played the character of the hard-core crime leader, Bodhi in "Point Break" (1991). For their illegal escapades, Bodhi and three of his surfer friends wore rubber masks that imitated ex-Presidents. Keanu Reeves played FBI agent, Johnny Utah, who went undercover and was enthralled with Bodhi.

After much searching, Utah traveled to where he knew he could apprehend his man. Bodhi had stated that he would not miss the storm of the century and the sheer adrenaline rush of it. At the conclusion, Utah simply let him go to ride the surf, but knew he would never return.

Answer: Ghost

"Ghost" (1990) has been among the favorites of romantic love stories. The film touched our hearts and entertained us with love, loss, revenge, sensuality, and comedy. Swayze portrayed the superior role as Sam Wheat with his undying devotion to his soul mate, Molly Jensen, played by Demi Moore. Since he seemed to have trouble speaking the words, 'I love you', he always responded with the word, "ditto". Whoopie Goldberg entered the scene when Sam persuaded her to be his medium.

Hesitantly, the con artist helped him by keeping Molly from entering into a bad relationship with a co-worker of Sam's, and the person who had hired his killer.

At the conclusion, Sam crossed into the next life, but first, had said his own special goodbye to Molly.

Answer: Road House

Although Dalton was a teacher with a Ph.D., he chose the perilous life of a head barroom bouncer in the film, "Road House" (1989). Every night, action involved fighting with blood, guts, and beer. The Jeff Healey band performed behind chicken wire to avoid glass beer bottles thrown onto the stage.

After he had a wound sewn up by Elizabeth "Doc" Clay, the couple hit it off right away. What Dalton did not know was Brad Wesley, the town's corrupt crime boss, claimed her as his own. In his crooked business transactions, he controlled the rest of the town, so it seemed.

This film involved Dalton in street-fighting and martial arts, as well. When his mentor and best friend, Wade Garrett, played by Sam Elliott, was stabbed and a note attached to his body, Dalton held nothing back.

Not only did he do his job well at the Double Deuce, he decontaminated the town too!

Answer: Next of Kin

After a gangster had killed his brother, Truman Gates (Swayze) was caught between his devotion to law enforcement, or to his family's own desire for revenge. Truman had left the backwoods of his Appalachian home for a city cop's life in Chicago. He contacted his older brother, Briar Gates, played by Liam Neeson.

He suggested adopting the redneck way to avenge their brother's killer, but Truman was determined to seek legal retribution. Truman had to choose between his family's belief in mountain justice or the sworn duties of his job. "Next of Kin", was released in 1989.

Answer: Along for the Ride

After he broke up with Lulu, his so-called crazy girlfriend, played by Melanie Griffith, Ben (Swayze), relocated to Los Angeles to become a screenwriter. When Lulu checked out of a mental hospital, she showed up in California at the home of Ben and his wife, Claire.

She forced Ben on a road trip cross-country to Wisconsin in order to see their son. Claire left L.A. on a plane hoping to arrive before her husband and Lulu did. "Along for the Ride" (2000), was lively to say the least, when the two women finally met at the hotel, with Ben, who was caught in the middle of the ordeal.

Answer: Dirty Dancing

The summer of 1963 found Johnny Castle (Swayze) as a dancer at a Catskills mountain resort. Baby Houseman, played by Jennifer Grey, was a seventeen year old spending the summer with her family there. One night after she spied on an employee party, Baby, was stunned at the style of dance they were participating in. Quickly, she fell in love with Johnny.

When his dance partner, Penny, was unable to perform due to her pregnancy, Baby volunteered and was determined to learn the dance steps. She took Penny's place for the last dance show at summer's end. "Dirty Dancing" (1987), became a surprisingly, successful film, and has been considered the film that brought Swayze to the apex of his career.

Answer: Red Dawn

In "Red Dawn" (1984), Patrick's role was the older brother of hot-headed Robert, who was played by C. Thomas Howell. After many in the small Oklahoma town had been eradicated, the brothers gathered a group of teens and escaped the invading soldiers who had landed by parachute.

The kids stocked up on supplies and ammunition and then headed for the mountains for safety, and to put their plan into action for a counter-attack. After several successful ambushes, one of the teen members betrayed them, which created a challenge in trust amongst them all.

Answer: Waking Up in Reno

Best friends and their wives journeyed in an SUV from Arkansas to Reno, Nevada, to attend a monster truck show. Roy (Swayze) and his wife Candy, had been trying to have a baby. However, it was soon discovered on the road trip that, Lonnie Earl (Thornton) and Candy, had been having an affair for quite some time. Lonnie Earl's wife, Darlene, played by Natasha Richardson, got partial revenge when she took her husband's credit cards and maxed them out at designer boutiques, and a Tony Orlando concert. As for the quest to have a baby, you will have to watch "Waking Up in Reno" (2000). Country singer, Dwight Yoakam, co-produced this Mirimax, comedy film.
