Billy Hayes has been made an example of by the Turkish government for trying to smuggle drugs out of the country. After being sentenced to 30 years in prison he can either wait the long road to release (i.e. wait for successful appeals by his lawyer, family and the American government) or take the 'Midnight Express' - a prison slang term for an inmate's attempt at escape.

Answer: Heart of Midnight

Whilst renovating the nightclub, the woman finds a 'secret' section used as a brothel for people with (shall we say) 'unusual' tendencies. After being raped by burglars, the woman befriends who she thinks is a detective assigned to her case. But is he all that he says he is?

5. Directed by Peter Walker and starring James Aubrey, Mark Burns and Alison Elliott, this movie was released in 1979. Which movie is about Mike Beresford, a rich, successful lyricist, who meets and starts a relationship with a young woman, Ginny Wilshire, who he later finds out to be only 14?

Answer: Home Before Midnight

'Home Before Midnight' is a film whose storyline deals with questions asked by young lovers every day: "Does age matter if we are in love?"

Eventually Ginny is bullied into charging her lover with rape, and Mike ends up losing his family, career and friends. But will love conquer all and will the couple be allowed to be happy in love?

'Midnight Cowboy' was the only 'X'-rated film in the twentieth century to win an Academy Award, winning Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay (1969).

Joe doesn't have the best of luck with his new chosen career path once he gets to New York. After losing all his money, being knocked back by the rich women he is chasing, and trying some questionable ways to make money, Joe befriends one of the people who ripped him off in the first place (Rizzo). Just as Joe's 'career' starts to take off, Rizzo becomes sick. Joe decides to give up his career to help his friend get to Miami - something Rizzo has always wanted to do. Will he get to Rizzo to Florida before his impending death?

Answer: 10 to Midnight

Part slasher film and part police drama, '10 to Midnight' involves Leo Kessler and Paul McAnn investigating the murders of several women. But who ends up dead in the end - Kessler or Stacy?
8. Which movie is based on the autobiographical book of Jerry Stahl, and follows his downward spiral of a $6000 a week drug habit when he was only making $5000 a week in Hollywood? This movie starred Ben Stiller, Elizabeth Hurley, Owen Wilson, Cheryl Ladd, was directed by David Veloz and was released in 1998.

Answer: Permanent Midnight

'Permanent Midnight' is probably not what most people are expecting of a Ben Stiller film. It is based on Jerry Stahl's autobiographical book of the same name and follows his downward spiral from his $5000 a week job writing TV scripts for Hollywood to his $6000 a week drug habit. 'Permanent Midnight' is credited for not making this type of life seem light or funny but shows it how it is - boring, dull and destructive.

But what happens to Stahl when he's pulled over by the police whilst looking for drugs with his young child in the back seat of the car?
9. Based on a novel by William Wharton and taking place in France in 1944, this movie is about two groups of soldiers (American and German) who come to spend Christmas together, with the German squad preferring to surrender than to die in war. Which 1992 movie was directed by Keith Gordon and starred Ethan Hawke, Kevin Dillon and Gary Sinise?

Answer: A Midnight Clear

'A Midnight Clear' follows the events of the American and German soldiers towards the end of war in 1944. Set in the Adriennes Forest on the French-German border, the German soldiers are discovered by the Americans and, after expressing their wish to surrender instead of die, end up 'celebrating' Christmas with their enemies.

But when things turn bad, who ends up on the wrong end of the barrel of a gun?
10. This movie is about bounty hunter, Jack Walsh, who embarrasses the FBI by finding the 'un-findable' Jonathan 'The Duke' Mardukas. In order to collect his bounty, Walsh has to get The Duke to Los Angeles from New York. Which 1988 Martin Brest directed movie starred Robert De Niro, Charles Grodin and Dennis Farina?

Answer: Midnight Run

Jack Walsh, a former cop now turned bounty hunter, has to get accountant Jonathan 'The Duke' Mardukas to Los Angeles from New York in five days, or forfeit his bond. Only it turns out that the man The Duke stole millions of dollars from in Las Vegas is the same person who framed Walsh when he was a cop. So with the Mafia, the FBI and a rival bounty hunter (Marvin) against them, Walsh has to keep The Duke and himself safe in a cross-country road trip. So does The Duke manage to escape Walsh, or do they end up friends for life?
