Marlin was going to name half of the children Coral Jr. and the other half Marlin Jr. Coral wanted one of the children to be named Nemo. Coral died trying to protect her unborn children from a barracuda. Only one child survived.

Dory called Nemo by then name of Chico when she was talking to Marlin about the school of fish helping them find Marlin's son. She called Nemo by the name of Fabio when she was describing Nemo to the school of fish. She referred to Nemo as Bingo when she was trying to contact a whale for help. While they were inside the whale, Dory referred to Nemo as Harpo. Finally, at the end of the movie when Nemo was on his way to school, Dory referred to Nemo by the name of Elmo.

The kids at Nemo's new school were asking about his small fin. Marlin told them that they call it Nemo's lucky fin. Pearl said she had one short tentacle, Tad said he was obnoxious and Sheldon said he was H2O intolerant and then sneezed to prove his point.

When Nemo was dropped off in the aquarium, viewers learned that P. Sherman was a dentist. P. Sherman told one of his patients that he rescued the clown fish from the reef and was going to give him away as a present to his niece, Darla, for her eighth birthday.

Before Dory could leave the school of fish, they told Dory to go through the trench that would lead them to the EAC and not over it. The fish never told her why. Darla was the soon-to-be eight year old niece of P. Sherman. She had already killed one fish and the other fish in the aquarium were scared of her. Gill mentioned to the aquarium gang that Darla would be at the office on Friday and would get Nemo then as her birthday present.

The escapees of P. Sherman's aquarium were: Gill, Deb, Bloat, Peach, Bubbles, Jacques, and Gurgle. Peach was the last one to roll her bag into the water. She commented that the timing of the red light had gotten shorter. When they were floating along in the ocean, Bloat said, "Now, what?"
