Answer: The King's Speech

"The King's Speech" was a 2010 film which starred Colin Firth as the stammering King George VI. His nervousness at public speaking led him to take speech therapy from Lionel Logue, played brilliantly by Geoffrey Rush. The true story made into a film won four Oscars at the Academy Awards ceremony, including Best Actor for Firth.

Answer: Pirates of the Caribbean

We first saw Geoffrey Rush play Captain Barbarossa in the 2003 film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", when he captured the lovely Elizabeth Swan (Keira Knightly). On their trail across the high seas were the lovesick Will Turner, played by Orlando Bloom, and Captain Jack Sparrow, hilariously portrayed by Johnny Depp.

Answer: Troy

The epic 2004 film starred Orlando Bloom as Paris and Diane Kruger as Helen of Troy. They fell in love and ran away together but this started a series of events as she was already married. Her husband organised an army which included the great warrior, Achilles (Brad Pitt), but Achilles was defeated in battle after Paris shot him in the heel with an arrow.

Answer: National Treasure

Nicolas Cage played the role of cryptologist Benjamin Gates in the 2004 film "National Treasure". He stole the Declaration of Independence after discovering there was a hidden treasure map on the back. He was joined by his father, played by Jon Voight, and Diane Kruger, who worked in the National Archives, to discover the secret of the treasure while trying to avoid a team of mercenaries.

Answer: Pearl Harbor

Childhood friends, Rafe (Ben Affleck) and Danny (Josh Hartnett), grew up together with a joint love of flying, and joined the Air Corps when they were old enough. Stationed at Pearl Harbor, they both fell in love with a nurse called Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale) but their love triangle had tragic consequences. This was not helped by an early morning raid by the Japanese which saw much destruction. The 2001 film also saw Jon Voight take on the role of President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Answer: Argo

Ben Affleck starred in and directed the 2012 Oscar winning film "Argo". Based on a true story, Affleck played Tony Mendez, a CIA consultant brought in to help extract six hostages holed up secretly at the Canadian embassy in Tehran, Iran, during the 1979 revolution. He was aided by a make-up artist (Goodman) and a movie producer. They came up with the idea of creating a phony film studio along with a cover story for each of the hostages.

Answer: Flight

John Goodman and Denzel Washington starred together in the 2012 film "Flight". Washington played a washed out drug addict who was also an alcoholic. Flying as pilot, he averted a major disaster when his aeroplane crash landed and he was hailed a hero as only minimal life was lost. It soon came to light that he was intoxicated while flying and he was hounded by the press until they finally caught up with him.

Answer: The Bone Collector

Lincoln Rhyme, played by Denzel Washington, was a bedridden quadriplegic detective and forensics expert in the 1999 thriller, "The Bone Collector". He was aided at home by his nurse/housekeeper, played by Queen Latifah. His latest case involved a psychological killer whose modus operandi included removing one single bone from his victim. Washington was aided by a police officer, played by Angelina Jolie, to catch the culprit.

Answer: Chicago

The 2002 musical "Chicago" saw a host of stars singing and dancing which included Catherine Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere and John C. Reilly. Renee Zellweger played Roxie Hart, a nightclub singer imprisoned for killing her lover. Queen Latifah played her role as the prison warden with great gusto, singing a rousing rendition of "When You're Good to Mama".

Answer: Bridget Jones's Diary

Renee Zellweger played single and overweight Bridget Jones in the 2001 film, "Bridget Jones's Diary". Recording in her diary her unsuccessful attempts to give up smoking, losing weight and meeting Mr Right, she fantasised about her boss (Hugh Grant), while starting to fall in love with friend of the family (Colin Firth) whom she had known for years. The results were hilarious!
