Dr. Ferral is a surgeon, who laughs at the idea of the Ripper being a doctor. Ben Kidney is a member of Special Branch and Sir Charles Warren is the Commissioner of police. Sir William Gull is portrayed by Ian Holm and is physician in ordinary to the royal family. William Gull retired after he suffered a brain seizure, six months previous to the events shown in the film.

Susan Lynch plays Elizabeth Stride, Lesley Sharp plays Catherine "Kate" Eddowes and Estelle Skornik plays Ada. Heather Graham has also appeared in "The Guru", "Austin Powers 2" and "Lost In Space". In this movie she is the main love interest for Abberline.

This writing is found in Goulston Street, along with a bloodstained piece of apron. Most people believe the message was left there by the Ripper.  Many Ripperologists believe that the Ripper wrote this because he blamed the Jews for the problems the country had. It was written in chalk and Sir Charles Warren ordered for it to be washed off before it caused panic.

Jack the Ripper was never actually found and his identity remains a mystery. There are many theories circulating about his identity, including the royal conspiracy, which is the basis for this movie.

Although most people believe Mary Kelly was actually killed, there are some who believe that it was not Mary's body. However, the body was in such a bad shape, it was almost impossible to positivly ID the body. In the movie, Ada is a French girl who dates Elizabeth Stride. The Ripper mistakes her for Mary and kills her. Ada is played by Estelle Skornik.

After the last murder, Abberline receives a letter from Mary, telling him that she has taken baby Alice to live in Ireland. Because he believes he is being watched by the police, and possibly the Freemasons, Abberline cannot go to Mary as she will be found.
