1. (1991) My real name is Laura Burney, although people around here know me as Sara Waters, and I have just killed my husband. I didn't want to kill him, but he didn't give me much choice. In the years that we were married he was extremely controlling and abusive, and I did my very best to get away from him. I orchestrated my own death, and slipped away to start a new life. Unfortunately he found me, and he made it very clear that he would rather see me dead than let me get away from him.
2. (1991) My name is Louise, and I just shot and killed a man who was trying to rape my best friend, Thelma. If it had been that straight forward I might have gotten away with turning myself in, but we had actually gotten away when he said something that made me mad, and I shot him. I couldn't help myself. It was like reliving what happened to me in Texas, all those years ago. Now we are on the run from the law, trying to make it to Mexico before they catch up with us.
3. (1980) My name is Violet Newstead, and I have fantasized about poisoning my disgusting boss so many times, that I believed that I'd actually done it. This led to a huge comedy of errors when it turned out he wasn't dead. My friends, Judy and Doralee, and I kept him hostage in his own house while we ran the office without him, and tried to figure out a way to get ourselves out of this predicament without having to go to jail. The interesting thing is that the office ran much better without him.

Currrently I am in the States, along with, Private First Class Lauden Downey, on trial for the murder of a fellow Marine. While we admit to having delivered a Code Red to William Santiago, we did so under orders. We deeply regret that this action resulted in Santiago's death, because of his undiagnosed heart condition, but do not believe that we deserve to be tried with murder. However since the administration of Code Reds has been prohibited, no one is admitting that the order was given, and we are being set up as scapegoats.
5. (1990) My name is Sam Wheat, and I was shot while being mugged on the way home from the theatre. Not being able to come to terms with being dead, I hung around for a while, and in doing so, found out that my murder wasn't as random as I'd thought. I also found that my beloved Molly was in danger, from the same people who had killed me, and I became desperate to find a way to warn her. It was pure luck that I stumbled upon Oda Mae Brown, the only living person who could actually hear me. Convincing her to help out was difficult, but together we managed to keep Molly safe. I wish I could say that I felt remorse about pushing Carl to that spot where the broken window fell down and impaled him, but I didn't.
6. (2001) My name is Stanley Jobson, and I am a computer hacker who was recently released from prison. I had every intention of staying honest this time, but when Gabriel Shear approached me, claiming to be a Federal Agent and offering to help me regain visitation rights with my daughter, it seemed like a pretty sweet deal. All I had to do was access some DEA money that was sitting unused for 9 years, so that Shear could use it in the fight against terrorism. When I started to wonder about whether everything was actually what he claimed, Shear upped the stakes and threatened my daughter's life. What choice did I have?
7. (1998) My name is Sally Owens, and all my life I have tried to deny the fact that I am a witch, who comes from a long line of witches. When my sister, Gillian, gets tangled up with a really dangerous man by the name of Jimmy Angelov, I'm willing to do anything to help her. I didn't mean to kill him though, I just meant to give him enough Belladonna to put him to sleep so we could get away. We managed to bring him back to life, but he came back as something incredibly evil, so I had to kill him again ... but he didn't really die this time and he's trying to possess my sister.
8. (1995) My name is Gene Watson, and I was returning from my ex-wife's funeral with my little girl, when she was taken and held hostage. I was given a gun, six bullets, a pass and the itinerary of the US Senator. I had one hour and fifteen minutes to kill the Senator, if I ever wanted to see my daughter again. I found myself totally incapable of actually committing murder, and spent a lot of time trying to warn this woman in a way that wouldn't jeopardize my daughter's life. Unfortunately many of the people around her, even her own husband, were in on the plot.
9. (2000) My name is Maximus, and I have had the honour of serving under Marcus Aurelius, one of the best leaders the empire has ever known. Unfortunately his son, Commodus, was not of the same caliber as his father. Commodus killed his father, seized control and ordered my execution. I managed to escape, but when I returned home I found that my family had been murdered, and I was captured. Forced to fight as a gladiator, I killed in the arena, and lived for the day when I could seek revenge on the man who destroyed everything that I held dear.
10. (2002) My name is John Anderton, and it is the year 2054. Because of the three precogs, genetically altered humans who have visions of murders before they occur, we are able to save lives by arresting murderers before they actually kill anyone. The public has not entirely come to terms with these preventative arrests, but as an officer in this division, I support the program whole-heartedly. At least I did until the day that my name came up as the perpetrator of the murder of a man whom I had never met before. Now I'm running from my own people, desperate to get to the bottom of the situation.
