Narcissa Malfoy says this to Severus Snape when she and Bellatrix Lestrange visit his home in Spinner's End. Narcissa is trying to get Snape to help protect her son, Draco Malfoy. Since Lucius Malfoy is in prison, Narcissa is worried about what will happen to Draco. Draco has been recruited by Lord Voldemort. Snape responds by cautioning Narcissa that if the Dark Lord told her not to speak of it, perhaps she shouldn't.

Bellatrix Lestrange accompanies her sister, Narcissa Malfoy, to Severus Snape's house. Narcissa is worried about the safety of Draco Malfoy, since Voldemort has taken him under his wings. Seeing that Bellatrix does not trust Snape, Bellatrix basically demands that he make the Unbreakable Vow. To ensure Snape commits to helping Draco, Bellatrix uses a bit of reverse psychology and calls him a coward. Snape has little recourse. He promises to protect Draco and to finish Draco's task, should he fail.

Ron, Hermione and Harry are standing in the remnants of Ollivander's Wand Shop, after leaving Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Ron says this to Harry as they look through the charred window frame. They see Narcissa and Draco Malfoy sneaking into the alleyway. Ron, Hermione and Harry follow them to Borgin and Burkes. The trio spy on the Malfoys as they examine an old cabinet. This cabinet is later used to give Bellatrix, Fenrir Greyback and two other Death Eaters entry into Hogwarts.

Draco Malfoy says this to Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson on the train to Hogwarts. This happens on the Hogwarts Express, shortly after Harry uses the Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder and his invisibility cloak to stow away above Draco's seat. Draco's plans to leave school center around the fact that he has been recruited by Lord Voldemort as a Death Eater.

Luna Lovegood says this to Harry Potter after they arrive at Hogwarts. Earlier in the movie, Draco uses the Body Binding charm on Harry and breaks Harry's nose. Luna rescues Harry from beneath his invisibility cloak and the two then walk to Hogwarts unaccompanied. Once they are back at Hogwarts, Luna uses the Episkey charm to fix Harry's nose. Harry momentarily feels pain, but Luna reassures him by saying he looks "exceptionally ordinary".

Dumbledore invites Harry to his office to share a memory in the pensieve. When Harry places his face in the pensieve fluid, he sees a younger Dumbledore, visiting an 11 year old Tom Riddle. Tom informs Dumbledore that he can do special things. After Dumbledore tells Tom that he is also different, Tom wants proof. So, Dumbledore sets fire to Tom's wardrobe. Tom removes a trembling box of stolen trinkets from the wardrobe and empties the contents on his bed. Dumbledore informs Tom that while "thievery" is unacceptable, he will learn to use and control his magic at Hogwarts.

The 11 year old Tom Riddle is played by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, the nephew of Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort).

Reacting on emotions is one of Harry's weaknesses. Not only does Harry act without thinking at times, but he often judges others without proof or knowing the entire story. Severus Snape says this to Harry Potter after he accuses Draco Malfoy of hexing the necklace that almost killed Katie Bell. While Harry is right about Malfoy, at the time he has no proof. Even McGonagall informs Harry that to accuse Draco is a very "serious" offence. Hermione Granger and Remus Lupin both question Harry's impulsivity throughout the movie.

After overhearing Severus Snape tell Draco Malfoy that he took the Unbreakable Vow to protect him, Harry decides to tell Remus Lupin, Arthur Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks what he has learned. To his surprise, Lupin does not accept that Snape cannot be trusted. Because Lupin has complete faith in Dumbledore's judgement, he suspects there is more to why Snape is reacting in this way.

When Harry first sees Professor Slughorn's altered memory in the pensieve, Tom Riddle says this to Professor Slughorn. It's important to note that Harry says something similar to Slughorn in the Potions Classroom, in an attempt to convince Slughorn to share the memory. Harry says, "Well, see the other day I was in the library, in the restricted section and I came across something rather odd about a very rare piece of magic." While the two statements are similar, Tom's words are more fluid. As Slughorn reminds us, "even then" Tom Riddle was quite diabolical.
