Answer: Open house

The film begins with an open house at the McKenzie household, which introduces us to some of the main characters. Jeff and Pam McKenzie are the owners of the home they are trying to sell because Jeff has lost his job. Kenan Thompson plays the part of Gavin Washington, a pushy real estate agent and Max Mercer (Archie Yates) is a curious kid that finds some interesting things in the McKenzie home.

Answer: Frankenstein

When Jeff is told that he looks like Frankenstein he corrects Max to inform him that Frankenstein is actually the name of the scientist. Comically, when Max's mother, Carol, enters the room she tells her son that Jeff doesn't look like Frankenstein but rather like Frankenstein's monster.

Answer: German porcelain dolls

Carol tells Jeff that she had seen the boxed items on the tv show "Treasure Trunk" and that they are German antique Schneider Kinder dolls. Carol further explains that an elderly lady had bought one at a garage sale for $10 and then she re-sold it for $5,000. Jeff inherited the dolls from his deceased mother.

When Jeff later looks at the box that the dolls were in he notices that one is missing and he assumes Max has taken it.

Answer: A car parked in the garage

The Mercer house is chaotic as over a dozen people are under one roof. Max's mother is screaming on the phone at their flight company after they inform her that the family has been split onto two flights for their trip. To get away from the noise Max goes into their garage and inside their BMW. He falls asleep and wakes up the next morning to find out that he is home alone.

Answer: Tokyo

Unfortunately for Max's mother she gets booked on a different flight than her son Max. Similar to the classic first film in the "Home Alone" series, a young boy falls asleep in an unusual spot to get away from his loud family. After Max's family makes it to their hotel in Tokyo, Carol is furious with her husband and her brothers-in-law, who were supposed to be on Max's flight, for not making sure that everyone in their group got on the plane.

Not much of the film takes place in Tokyo other than a few scenes at the airport and hotel room.

Answer: Buzz McCallister

Jeff and Pam are outside the Mercer home when officer Buzz McCallister arrives. Buzz asks them if they are the homeowners and Pam lies saying they are and then is able to sweet talk her way out of Buzz investigating the home. A bewildered Max is looking at all of this from inside the home and decides that the police are no longer an option as another call may cause his negligent parents to get in trouble.

The character of Buzz McCallister is the brother of Kevin McCallister, the protagonist of the first two blockbuster "Home Alone" films from the early 1990s. Interestingly, the actor who played Buzz McCallister in the 1990's "Home Alone" films, Devin Ratray, was the same actor who played Buzz in "Home Sweet Home Alone" decades later.

Answer: Santa Claus

Jeff and Pam decide that they will break into the Mercer home at midnight. They think that even if Max is awake he will not suspect any foul play and just be excited to see Santa Claus. Unfortunately for them, Max knows of their break-in plans and he booby traps the home.

Answer: Billiard balls

Max's first shot from the t-shirt gun lands a perfect billiard ball smack in the middle of Jeff's forehead. This causes a huge welt on his head. Other traps set by Max included an iced driveway, Legos all over the floor, exploding soda bottles and thumbtack darts.

Answer: A can of orange soda

From the first scene in which we see Max and his mother we learn that Max has quite the soda addiction. The reason that they end up stopping at the McKenzie home in the beginning of the film was because Max had six cups of soda at lunchtime and had to go to the bathroom.

After Max uses the McKenzie's bathroom he sees a case of orange soda and asks Jeff if he can have one. Jell tells him to ask his mother who tells him no. As we later find out, Max ends up taking one of the cans of orange soda anyway and putting it in his jacket pocket.

Answer: Jeff's nephew, Ollie

After Pam and Jeff learn that Max is home alone and that he didn't take their valuable doll they let him stay at their house until Max's mother comes home. While everyone is talking at the McKenzie home, Ollie realizes that he has taken something valuable and he tosses the doll from the top of the stairs. Luckily Max is able to catch the porcelain doll before it hits the ground and give it to Jeff.

The film ends with a scene a year later in which the Mercer family and McKenzie family are having Christmas dinner together after having become close friends.
