Pamela Voorhees, mother of the infamous killer Jason Voorhees, was not only responsible for the murders at Camp Crystal Lake in the first film of the franchise, but she was also the reason that her only child Jason had some deep mommy issues and wound up becoming one of the horror genre's most ruthless killers! 'Friday the 13th' came out in the year 1980 and made such an impact with horror fans, that not only did it pump out many sequels and a remake, but it was also an influence on many other horror films with very similar plots of teens getting offed at camp!

Answer: The Shining

Jack Torrance was the evil father in this Stephen King horror gem. The character was played flawlessly by Jack Nicholson, while the character of his son Danny was played by Danny Lloyd. Jack took his family to the Overlook Hotel where he would work as a winter caretaker while also writing his novel.

While there, Jack became possessed by the evil that inhabited the hotel, and then eventually tried to kill his family because of it. This creepy film was directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Answer: Carrie

Margaret White seemed to hate her teen daughter Carrie and felt she should have never been born. One creepy scene showed Margaret (played by Piper Laurie) hiding behind the bathroom door as her daughter entered to take a bath after the whole bloody prom incident. Later that night she tried to kill Carrie by stabbing her in the back. Carrie had telekinesis, and because of her strong mental powers, her mother feared her at times. Carrie was played by Sissy Spacek.

Actor Terry O'Quinn was the dastardly dad in this suspenseful horror film. He also starred in the 1989 sequel that showed his antics with a new family after he managed to escape from the mental asylum.

Answer: Mother's Day

Due to the very violent nature of the film, 'Mother's Day' became an exploitation cult hit among its fans. A remake was released in 2012 in the United States which starred Rebecca De Mornay in the title role. It was very loosely based on the original film.

Answer: Hell Night

According to the legend, Raymonde Garth had strangled his wife to death, brutally murdered his four young children, then hung himself. The body of his son Andrew was never found. Now while the four pledges were spending the night, they wound up finding out the hard way that not everyone in the Garth family was dead like they thought. Apparently, one or more had survived, and did not like that strange people were inhabiting their home... and decided to rid the home of them one by one.

Answer: The Girl Next Door

This movie in my opinion was very hard to watch. A teenager named Meg and her younger sister Susan were sent to live with their aunt after their parents were killed in a car accident. During their stay, Meg was mercilessly tied up, tortured, beaten and eventually left to die in this unflinching film. All this was orchestrated by her evil Aunt Ruth, who would also allow her sons and the neighborhood kids to all take a turn torturing poor Meg.

The role of the sadistic Ruth was played by Blanche Baker.

Answer: We Are What We Are

This film was a remake of a 2010 Mexican horror film that bore the same title. Frank Parker forced his children to follow in the cannibal family tradition, which wound up causing very deadly repercussions. The ending of the film was shocking for most people, as sisters Rose and Iris decided to accept their fate in very gruesome fashion.

Answer: The Ring

'The Ring' is the American remake of 'Ringu' (1998). While some would say that Anna definitely did the right thing trying to kill her wicked daughter Samara, the deed still puts her on the list of malicious mothers in horror. Unfortunately, it took Samara seven days to die in that well. Because of this, a mysterious videotape with creepy images was circulated among people, and anyone who watched it and didn't make a copy to pass on to someone else... would die in seven days!

Answer: House at the End of the Street

Jennifer Lawrence and Elisabeth Shue starred in this suspenseful horror film. It was revealed at the end of the film that the killer was forced by his parents to take the place of his dead younger sister literally. Whenever he refused, he was abused by his parents. This cruel act led to him eventually killing them before going on to do other dastardly acts!
