Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the name of the killer clown in the movie, '100 Tears'?

Answer: Gurdy

'100 Tears' was released in 2007, and was directed by Marcus Koch. This film was about a serial killer clown named Gurdy, who stalked and killed his victims with an oversized meat cleaver. Two investigative reporters were on his trail trying to get the scoop, since they saw it as their chance to get their big break in the business. Unfortunately for them, they wound up getting too close to their subject, and became part of the story.
2. Which of these films was the sequel to the 2004 movie, 'S.I.C.K.'?

Answer: Mr. Jingles

'S.I.C.K.', which stands for Serial Insane Clown Killer, was about five friends who went on vacation to a cabin, only to be murdered one by one by a crazy clown killer. 'Mr. Jingles', which was released in 2006, was the sequel to this disturbing film, according to the DVD sleeve.

It was about a man who was released from prison for a crime he didn't commit. He decided to dress as a clown named Mr. Jingles and exact revenge for being locked up.
3. Which one of these movies was about a clown doll that was brought to life to get revenge on the gang members who had killed his owner?

Answer: Killjoy

Poor Michael was constantly being tormented by members of a local gang, so he resorted to using evil spirits to bring Killjoy to life. It was a year after Michael was killed by the gang thugs that the killer doll came to life to get his revenge. 'Killjoy' (2000) spawned a sequel in 2003, which had the evil Killjoy once again wrecking havoc.
4. One of these films had a scene where a young boy was dragged under his bed by his clown doll that came to life. Which one?

Answer: Poltergeist

Just as the Freeling family thought the spirits were gone and that their troubles were over, more trouble ensued. Their young son Robbie had a creepy clown doll that sat in a chair in front of his bed. One night it came to life and grabbed the poor boy by wrapping its long arm around his neck and dragging him under the bed. 'Poltergeist' (1982), was directed by Tobe Hooper and starred JoBeth Williams and Craig T. Nelson.
5. In the 1989 movie, 'Clownhouse', three brothers were followed home from the circus by three escaped mental patients from the insane asylum. The three mental patients had killed three circus clowns and put on their outfits before following the boys to terrorize them. Which one of the brothers had an intense fear of clowns?

Answer: Casey

Casey (played by Nathan Forrest Winters), had an uncontrollable case of coulrophobia, which is an intense fear of clowns. He was the youngest of the three brothers. 'Clownhouse' was directed by Victor Salva. Some of his other films include 'Powder' (1995), 'Jeepers Creepers' (2001) and 'Jeepers Creepers 2' (2003).
6. Hi! My name is Church. I am a cat owned by the Creed family. My daddy Louis buried me when he found me dead on the road. Then I came back to life. Where did he bury me?

Answer: Micmac burial ground

Church was a gray British Shorthair cat, who unfortunately got hit on the busy road in front of the Creed family's house. Instead of taking him to the pet cemetery (spelled 'Sematary'), Louis' neighbor Jud told him to take him beyond that to the Micmac Indian burial ground. Only problem is... Church does not come back the same way he was before. All this as well as much worse, took place in the 1989 horror film, 'Pet Sematary', which was written by horror master, Stephen King.

As it was said in the film: "Sometimes, dead is better."
7. In the 1990 movie, 'Tales from the Darkside', one of the short stories was about a hitman that was hired to do what was supposed to be a simple job... kill a black cat! Only this was no ordinary cat, and it turned out to be bad news for the hitman. Name the short story title.

Answer: Cat From Hell

This short story was taken from horror novelist, Stephen King. David Johansen played the role of Halston the hitman. He didn't have much luck doing what he had been hired to do by the cat's owner, to say the least. This kitty put him through Hell, so to speak.
8. In the 1992 film, 'Sleepwalkers', Charles and Mary Brady were mother and son who were actually 'werecats', but were in human form most of the time. Aside from telekinesis, what other power did they both possess?

Answer: The ability to become invisible

In some scenes, both Mary and Charles would make themselves invisible to humans when the time called for it. They both needed the lifeforce of a virgin woman to stay healthy. Their one weakness though... was cats! Cats were the only ones that could see through their illusions, plus they would do very severe bodily harm to them. Mary had feared cats so much, that she had stayed trapped in her house through most of the film, since the house was surrounded by dozens of kitties that hated them, and wanted to hurt them! Both Mary and Charles had been victims to these cat attacks, which made the kitties somewhat of heroes in the film.

But of course, there were also plenty of cats that wound up meeting their demise at the hands of the mother and son as well.

This movie was based on a screenplay by Stephen King. Brian Krause, Alice Krige and Mädchen Amick starred.
9. In the 2009 movie, 'The New Daughter', Kevin Costner played the role of a father who moved into a new home with his son and daughter. They also had a cat. What was the cat's name?

Answer: Marmalade

Poor Marmalade! As I stated in the description section of this quiz, some cats in horror films end up becoming the victims. Unfortunately, Marmalade was another addition to that list. Something very strange and eerie was happening to Louisa James after she, her father and younger brother moved into their new countryside home. John (played by Costner) had to unravel the mystery as to why his daughter Louisa was acting differently. Samantha Mathis also starred in this creepy horror thriller.
10. Which one of these films had three short stories all involving cats?

Answer: Cat's Eye

This 1985 film included three short stories all written by, once again, Stephen King. The three stories, which were titled, 'The Ledge', 'Quitters, Inc.', and 'The General' all involved cats in the stories. 'The Ledge' and 'Quitters, Inc.' both appeared in King's short story collection titled, 'Night Shift'. 'The General' was about a family cat named General who wound up battling it out with a creepy troll that would go into little Amanda's room at night. General was her protector, and was considered a hero to the family after defeating the troll. Drew Barrymore, James Wood, Charles S. Dutton and Robert Hays starred.
