Answer: At a restaurant, having an intimate dinner

Bianca (voiced by Eva Gabor) and Bernard (voiced by Bob Newheart) are at an elegant restaurant, sharing an intimate dinner. The surroundings are lovely, with candles and wine and softly falling snow visible through the window. It is all very romantic. But Bernard seems uneasy. At last he nerves himself to ask Bianca a tremendously important question...when he has a mishap!

Answer: He has dropped the engagement ring.

In his nervousness, poor Bernard drops the ring at the very moment he is about to ask Miss Bianca to marry him. He has to go chasing it, and so is not at the table when Francois (voiced by Ed Gilbert) brings an urgent message from the chairmouse of the Rescue Aid Society.

Answer: That she and Bernard accept the Australian assignment

When Bernard gets back to the table clutching the ring, Miss Bianca tells him that Francois has explained everything. Needless to say, this puzzles Bernard mightily. They talk at cross purposes all the way back to the Rescue Aid Society headquarters, where he finally learns that he will be accompanying his lady love to Australia on an assignment.

He'll have to find another time to propose. Gallantly, he puts aside his romantic problems and prepares to leave on the rescue mission.

Answer: A load of snow falls off the building and buries him.

Captain Wilber Albatross (voiced by John Candy) proves even more eccentric than his brother Orville, with whom the R.A.S. agents had flown to Devil's Bayou. He is, though, just as kind, and as smitten with the beautiful and sweet-natured Bianca. Despite Bernard's misgivings, they start on their long journey that very night.

A little thing like a blizzard isn't going to keep Albatross Air grounded when a child has been kidnapped and Miss Bianca has been directed to rescue him!

Answer: Jake the kangaroo rat

The dashing R.A.S. field operative Jake (voiced by Tristan Rogers), with his easy confidence and heroic if perhaps tall tales is immediately smitten with Miss Bianca. The problem is, Bianca seems just as taken with him. Bernard quickly comes to feel irrelevant and unwanted. But resentment, jealousy and despair can urge even the most bashful, timid mouse to feats of heroism.

Answer: Bernard is knocked into the water by a swamp snake Jake has lassoed.

At exactly the wrong moment, Jake finds the swamp snake he has been looking for to serve as transport on the next leg of the journey. Once more, Bernard looks foolish while Jake takes command of the situation and possession of Bianca.

Answer: No

Cody and Marahute are captured. Bianca and Jake make it onto McLeach's halftrack, but Bernard is left behind.

If I understand correctly, a halftrack is a sort of cross between a truck and a caterpillar tractor.

Answer: He is able to protect the eagle's eggs.

Bernard rescues Marahute's eggs from the very frustrated Joanna, giving her stones instead. He also convinces Wilber, who turns up in the nick of time, to sit on the nest, though not before the albatross reprimands him for letting Bianca be captured.

Answer: Yes

Jake adds heartily, "That's right. If anyone can get us out of this scrape, it's old Bernard." Then, aside, he congratulates Bianca on her fine bluff. It would have warmed the gray mouse's faithful heart if he could have heard the complete confidence with which Bianca answers, "I wasn't bluffing. He'll never give up. You don't know him like I do."

Answer: A razorback

Bernard is understandably frightened when the huge (to him) razorback comes blundering towards him. But as the old saying goes, a hero is someone who does what he has to do even though he's frightened. Bernard has a job to do, to follow the trail of McLeach's halftrack, and there's only one way to do it.

Besides, if Jake can let creatures many times his own size know who's boss, so can Bernard, by gosh!

Answer: "Something weird's going on around here. I smell a great big rat!"

McLeach orders Joanna to get rid of the razorback. Meanwhile, he stomps around looking for the key and muttering to himself. Fortunately, he doesn't see Bernard. Unfortunately, Joanna does.

Answer: He makes sure Joanna and McLeach fall in the river.

Bernard hits and taunts Joanna so that she throws herself at McLeach. This in turn causes McLeach to trip and drop the rifle. Finally, Bernard is able to push the poacher, with the goanna still clinging to him, into the river. But Bernard's job is not finished.

Answer: He dives in to save Cody.

It might seem hopeless, but Bernard is a crack R.A.S. agent. Besides, Bianca is depending on him to bring the child back safely. So, he doesn't hesitate.

Answer: No

Like any good rescue, it's a team effort, and, it is the closest of shaves. Cody and Bernard begin to go over the waterfall when the others manage to free Marahute, who swoops down and plucks them to safety. Once they are flying free, Cody cuddles Bernard just a little. But, Bernard has far more important things on his mind.

Answer: "Of Course!"

Jake, who had never taken Bernard seriously, is deeply impressed by the gray mouse's pluck and congratulates him heartily.
