Answer: I Can Wait

"I Can Wait" was recorded and filmed by Nikki Blonsky, but was ultimately cut as it was decided that, after the change of pace in "Timeless To Me" and "I Know Where I've Been", the movie needed to get the the high energy of the final scene. Had it been included in the film it would have taken place while Tracy is locked up in the Pingleton's bomb shelter. The scene can be found on the two disk "Shake and Shimmy" edition of the film.

The other three songs were recorded as demos but ultimately were not used in the film. Both "Save Your Applause 'Til The End" and "Mrs. Von Tussle Says" were written for the character of Velma Von Tussle who was played in the film by Michelle Pfeffier. Both songs were played for Michelle but she said that she'd signed up to play "Miss Baltimore Crabs" and that it was the basis of her entire character, so the original song stayed. "It Ain't Over 'Til The Fat Lady Sings" was a song written for the character of Tracy. It was supposed to occur before "You Can't Stop The Beat" but it was later decided that 'beat' was enough. These songs were never recorded by the film actors but the demos can be heard on the collectors edition soundtrack.

The actors playing the council kids are Brittany Snow as Amber, Curtis Holbrook as Brad, Hayley Podschun as Tammy, Phillip Speath as Fender, Cassie Silva as Brenda, Nick Baga as Sketch, Sarah Jayne Jensen as Shelley, Jesse Weafer as IQ, Kelly Fletcher as Lou Ann, J.P. Ferreri as Joey, Spencer Liff as Mikey, Laura Edwards as Vicki, Tabitha Lupien as Becky, Corey Gorewicz as Bix, Josh Feldman as Jesse, Becca Sweitzer as Darla, Everett Smith as Paulie, Tiffany Engen as Noreen, Brooke Engen as Doreen and Zac Efron as Link.

Brittany Snow, who plays Amber, has previously been in the film "The Pacifier" while Zac Efron, who plays Link, is best known for his role as Troy in the Disney channel "High School Musical" films. Tabitha Lupien, who appears as Becky, has previously appeared with John Travolta in the film "Look Who's Talking Now", the final film in the "Look Who's Talking" series. Tabitha played Julie, the daughter of John's character.

Jerry Stiller played the role of Arthur Spooner, between 1998 and 2007, in the television comedy "The King Of Queens" as well as roles in "The Heartbreak Kid" (2007), "Zoolander" (2001) and "Seinfeld" (1993 - 1998).

Actor Billy Crystal and Jim Broadbent were both considered for the role of Wilbur in this film before it went to Christopher Walken.

Wilbur Turnbald is the father of Tracy and the husband of Edna. It is Wilbur who encourages and supports Tracy in her dream to become a dancer on the Corney Collins show. He is also the owner of a joke shop.

Answer: Red and Gold

Both Edna and Mothermouth Maybelle wear a red and gold dress during this song, which is the last in the film. However, Edna's is red with gold tassle and sequins while Mothermouth Maybelle's is gold with red fur around the sleeves and hem.

Each day it took John Travolta, who plays Edna, four hours to put on the fat suit and make up required for the role. The fat suit weighed more than 30 pounds.

When Penny's mother, Prudy, is tying her up, just before the start of the song "Without Love" she calls Penny by her full name, before telling her she is 'absolutely positively permanently punished'.

Penny is played by actress Amanda Bynes. It is estimated that during the filming of the movie she ate about 40 lollypops a day due to the fact her character is eating one in most scenes of the movie.

Velma is seen with her cat just before the song "Big, Blonde and Beautiful". The cat has two different coloured eyes - one is blue and the other is brown or red.

Madonna and Meryl Streep were considered for the role of Velma which is played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Michelle Pfeiffer appeared in the "Grease 2" to sequel to "Grease" which starred John Travolta.

Amber was Colleen Fitzpatrick's first acting role, but she is probably better known for her singing career under the name of Vitamin C. She has released two albums "Vitamin C" in 1999 and "More" in 2001 as well as six singles, which included "Me, Myself and I" and "Smile". She also played herself in the 2001 movie "Get Over It".

Colleen appeared in the first series of "The Amanda Show", which starred Amanda Bynes, who plays Penny Pingleton in the 2007 movie.

Once Tracy becomes famous, the joke shop sells many Tracy related novelty items. The joke shop also features during the reprise of "Big Blonde and Beautiful", where Velma tries to seduce Wilbur. After Edna catches the two of them together, Wilbur ends up sleeping in the shop with a bed made out of whoopee cushions.

"Cooties" is a song written for the character of Amber, however on the end credits it is sung by pop singer Aimee Allen, not Brittany Snow who plays Amber.

"Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now" was written for the characters of Tracy, Penny and Amber but was cut from the film as neither Adam Shankman nor Leslie Dixon could work out how to film it in a way that did not require a three way split screen. However it does appear as an instrumental in the film. The version of the song on the credits and on the CD soundtrack is sung by Nikki Blonsky, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ricki Lake - all three of whom have played Tracy Turnblad; Nikki in the 2007 movie, Marissa was the original Broadway Tracy and Ricki Lake played the role in the original movie.

Answer: Little Inez

Inez is annouced as the winner at the end of the film. When they annouce her name it is one of the few times she is called Inez and not Little Inez. When she wins, not only does she become the lead dancer on the Corny Collins show, but the show becomes official intergrated. However if Tracy hadn't turned up and got Inez to dance, Amber would have won the competition, as her mother Velma had switched the votes. In the original film Tracy was crowned the winner.

Little Inez is said to be the younger sister of Seaweed and the daughter of Motormouth Maybelle.
