Édgar Ramírez played the part of Aguirre in the film and the character is based on Lope de Aguirre who lived from 1510 to 1561. Unlike in "Jungle Cruise", Lope de Aguirre actually died while searching for the mythical golden kingdom El Dorado rather than for the Tree of Life. Aguirre was noted for his cruelty and he was nicknamed 'Wrath of God' and 'The Madman'.

In the film Aguirre seeks the Tree of Life as an effort to save his dying daughter but his group ends up dying from the dangers of the Amazon jungle.

Answer: Arrowhead

As Lily is stealing the arrowhead her brother McGregor is giving a presentation to the British Royal Society about the Tree of Life's healing powers and how it could help Britain in World War I. The Royal Society laughs at him and tells him the Tree of Life is a myth and that they had heard the same presentation from his sister and denied her access to the arrowhead and funding for an expedition as well.

Answer: Porto Velho

Lily and McGregor arrive in Porto Velho, Brazil to search for a captain to take them along the Amazon River. They meet Frank Wolff who advertises his tours as the cheapest and most exciting but many of his patrons find his props silly and his jokes lame. Even so, he is able to convince Lily to hire him after he poses as the harbormaster Nilo.

Porto Velho is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Rondônia. Although "Jungle Cruise" depicts Porto Velho as being located on the Amazon River it is is actually located on the Madeira River which is the largest tributary of the Amazon.

Answer: Piranhas

After McGregor complains that Frank threw away most of his belongings and food to not weigh down the boat Frank shoots a rat. Lily and McGregor seem disgusted to eat a rat so Frank tosses the rat in the water where it is immediately devoured by piranhas that Frank scoops onto the boat. They cook and eat these piranhas and have their first serious chat to get to know each other.

Answer: A sword in his chest

The German Prince Joachim locates the Spanish conquistadors that are petrified and trapped in a cave. He promises to free them on condition that they retrieve the arrowhead for him. Led by Aguirre, the three conquistadors have had their bodies deformed by snakes, bees and mud.

The conquistadors are able to locate Frank and Lily and they stab Frank with a sword through the chest causing him to fall and hit rocks before splashing into the river. Devastated, Lily goes to find Frank's body and is shocked that he is alive. Ever the jokester, Frank tells her that she better use two hands to pull out the sword.

After the sword is removed Frank tells Lily that he was once a member of Aguirre's crew from 400 years ago and that he too is cursed to be trapped to the Amazon River and not experience death.

Answer: Pants

The majority of the action of "Jungle Cruise" takes place in 1916 when seemingly it was very uncommon for women to wear pants. Frank asks Lily about her attire and she tells him they are trousers and that they are appropriate for her line of work. In addition to Frank, her brother McGregor, the Spanish conquistadors and Prince Joachim also joke to Lily about her wearing pants.

Answer: Cartographer

Frank was Aguirre's adopted brother and a member of Aguirre's expedition down the Amazon River in search of the Tree of Life. Frank's primary role was as a cartographer as he created dozens of maps of the Amazon region. Although Frank denies that he has been searching for the Tree of Life, Lily finds the maps and notes he has created.

Answer: Blood moon

Earlier in the film the Puka Michuna tribal leader translates inscriptions on Lily's arrowhead and informs her of the tree's location and that the Tree of Life will only bloom under a blood moon. Conveniently, the group arrives at The Tree of Life at the end of a night with a blood moon and after placing a gem in the tree's trunk it blooms again.

A blood moon is the name given to a lunar eclipse in which the moon has a reddish color due to it receiving no direct sunlight and only sunlight refracted from Earth's atmosphere.

Answer: Lily

After the Tree of Life blooms Lily is able to retrieve a flower that is believed to be able to cure illness, heal injury and remove curses. Lily places this flower in the mouth of the petrified Frank and eventually he wakes up and is a normal human again. With his curse lifted Frank is able to experience pain and leave the Amazon.

Answer: Drive a car

Throughout the film Frank uses many cheesy puns to Lily that she eventually finds comical. In London Frank sees city car traffic for the first time and enjoys the thrill of driving a car. Seeing exhaust gases from other vehicles, Lily tells Frank that he is exhausting knowing that he would appreciate the corny joke.

In "Jungle Cruise" Lily is played by Emily Blunt while Dwayne Johnson plays the part of Frank.
