Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Within the confines of the movie, wood from the original park entrance was used to craft the gates for "Jurassic World".

Answer: True

It was stated in voice over during the ride into the park that wood from the original entrance was used to craft the new entrance.

What wasn't explained was why visitors would care. The original park from the first "Jurassic Park" movie never opened to the public.
2. Isla Nublar and its sister island are located in what country?

Answer: Costa Rica

Isla Nublar, the island setting for both the original and fourth installments in the franchise and the sister island where "The Lost World" was set, are off the coast of Costa Rica.

The island is described as being "40 miles off the coast of Costa Rica" in some of the exposition in the first 10 minutes of the film.

The sister island is called Isla Sorna.
3. Who were brothers Zach and Gray going to see at the theme park?

Answer: Their aunt

Claire, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, was the duo's aunt through their mother.

Other than being referenced multiple times as "Aunt Claire" the character is seen talking to their mother during the first act. During that conversation they both talk about their mother.

Claire admits to having only seen the boys twice before in their lives and early in the movie couldn't even tell anyone how old they were.
4. What gender was the Indominus Rex that was featured in the film?

Answer: Female

The monster was referred to with female verbiage throughout the movie.

Further it was mentioned that "she" ate her sister when the new creature was first introduced.
5. Lowery was wearing a Jurassic Park shirt in the control room. Where did he say he got it from?

Answer: Ebay

He told Claire that he paid $150 on Ebay for the shirt.

Claire told him it was insensitive because people had died and that he should never wear the shirt again.

This was the first film in the franchise to depict a fully open and operational theme park.
6. Did John Hammond, the park founder, appear in the film?

Answer: no

There was a statue of Hammond featured near the front entrance to the park that every visitor had to walk past.

One of the buildings was also named in his honor.

The actor, Richard Attenborough, died before he could film a planned cameo in the movie.
7. Which well known wireless provider agreed to pay to sponsor the Indominus Rex exhibit when it was ready to open?

Answer: Verizon

Among the options only Verizon is a wireless provider. The others produce phones, but do not offer service networks.

Claire took several executives on a tour of the lab to show them the new "designer" dinosaur that they would be unveiling.

After she closed the deal several people in the control room made jokes about the display being "presented by" Verizon Wireless.
8. Owen Grady served in which branch of the military before taking a job at the park?

Answer: U.S. Navy

Owen Grady, played by Chris Pratt, was a former Navy officer. He was brought to the park to train animals by InGen, who thought they could use the trained dinosaurs as military resources.

Grady's service record, including the branch he served in, was mentioned multiple times, including during a conversation with Hoskins (Vincent D'Onofrio).

Grady, while he took the job, was against the actual use of the dinosaurs as resources and fought against them being deployed in the field.
9. What species of dinosaur did Owen train, which eventually fought beside him?

Answer: Velociraptor

A scene made famous in the trailer for the movie was Owen on a motorcycle leading the pack of raptors on a hunt through the woods.

Owen was against deploying the animals in the field, and only went along with it when he was informed that it was with or without him. He was concerned his animals would be harmed if he didn't participate, going as far as to tell the security team that was deploying with him, "don't shoot my raptors".
10. Zach and Gray went missing while driving what type of vehicle?

Answer: Gyrosphere

The Gyrosphere was a new invention for the movie. It was a giant glass ball that promised to never let the occupants capsize.

The name of the sphere coincided with the name of the ride the boys were on, and was also mentioned multiple times during the safety video that played inside the sphere.

The sphere allowed park visitors to go out into fields and interact up close with some of the dinosaur species.

It was while in the sphere that the boys met the Indominus Rex and were attacked.
