Blanchett said she sort of accepted the role on a dare. "If somebody challenges me to do something, I say ok very quickly." Six actors portrayed different parts of Dylan's life. Blanchett's character represented Dylan from 1965 to 1966, a time when he was touring with a UK band and was not all that popular. Examples of Blanchett's acting versatility include the roles of Queen Elizabeth in "Elizabeth" (1998), Katherine Hepburn in "The Aviator" (2004) and Galadriel in three "Lord of the Rings" movies.

As well as starring in numerous movies, Barrymore has also directed and produced. Diaz's acting career began when at age twenty-one, she won the the part of Tina Carlyle in "The Mask" (1994).

She has many movies to her credit and has also done some television.

Teena Renae Brandon was born female, but identified herself as a male and later used the name Brandon Teena. When Brandon gets in trouble with the law, he is jailed an put in the women's section. Two male acquaintances discover Brandon's true sexuality and beat and rape him. Later, they decide to kill Brandon and shoot him when they find him hiding in a shed at a friend's house The movie won forty three awards, and Swank won both the Oscar and Golden Globe awards for Best Actress.

Critics weren't too favorable toward the movie at first, but movie goers seemed to love it. Close and several other actors and singers, including Kelly Rowan, Phil Collins, David Crosby, and Jimmy Buffett had cameo roles in this movie.

Jolie's role as Evelyn Salt is a mixture of James Bond and Jason Bourne. She is accused of being a Russian spy and goes on the run in order to prove her innocence. The thriller-espionage movie seems to be a favorite of Jolie's as evidenced by her starring in "The Good Shepherd" (2006), "Wanted" (2008), and "The Tourist" (2010).

The film wasn't really successful receiving only mediocre reviews, but it did help to launch Cary Grant's acting career.
