The Munro family plans to vacation in Hawaii, but Bob Munro's boss tells him he must go to a meeting in Colorado or lose his job. Mr. Munro then decides to take his family on an RV trip to Colorado so that he can still get in vacation time with the family.

Jeff Daniels plays the part of Travis Gornicke and we first see him appear in the movie when Bob Munro (Robin Williams) has just been covered in waste from the RV. Jeff Daniels was born on February 19, 1955, and is well-known as an actor, but he is also a songwriter.

His CDs include "Grandfather's Hat" and "Jeff Daniels Live and Unplugged". "Dumb and Dumber", "The Purple Rose of Cairo", "Arachnophobia", and "Gettysburg" are just a few of the many movies in which he has performed.

Gretchen (Cassie's friend) wants to go with Cassie to talk to Todd. She says that she has read about him on the internet. When she begins to talk to Todd, she remarks about him being responsible for putting Pure Vibe Soda into all the public schools. She then tells him that he is "personally responsible for destroying the health of children". To finish off her monologue, she throws her drink in his face!

Alpine Soda is owned by Larry and Garry Morphine and their headquarters is in Colorado. It is Bob Munro's job to talk them into the merger since one of them has had some second thoughts about it. He needs to convince them that they should go from being a local-family owned company to part of a big national company.

He comes out on the bicycle specially made for his hip problems. He then rides away and plans to make it to his meeting by riding the bike through the woods. As he is riding through the woods, he sees his family having a good time with the Gornickes and rides down the hill after them.

During most of the movie, the Munros try to avoid the Gornickes. They evade them whenever possible and go out of their way to do so. After Mr. Munro rides away on his bike, the rest of the family then has to walk and the only people to come by and offer them a ride are the Gornickes! This is when Mrs. Munro begins to apologize for their actions.

Answer: Laird

Mr. Munro is afraid that Laird is going to take his job because, according to him, Laird is "younger, smarter, and cheaper". Todd wants Bob Munro to do the presentation for the Alpine Soda merger because he says that Bob has something that Laird doesn't--he's good in a meeting. Laird is played by Richard Cox. Richard Ian Cox has had some movie roles, but has mostly appeared in TV series, including providing the voice for animated characters.

He supplied the voice for "Inuyasha" in the English version of this Japanese cartoon.

Answer: Diablo Pass

Mr. Munro asks the police officer if there is any other way to get through other than the main road. The officer tells him that there is Diablo Pass, but he also tells him that he won't make it in the RV. We then see Mr. Munro sitting staring at the pass before he decides to go for it.

At the top of the mountain, the RV gets stuck and Mr. Munro has to get out and try and move it. He does so, but ends up riding the rest of the way back to the RV camp hanging onto the windshield wipers.

"(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" was originally written by Bobby Troup and recorded by Nat King Cole in 1946. It has been redone by many artists including The Rolling Stones, The Cramps, Chuck Berry and The Cheetah Girls.

Answer: They get run over by the RV.

Throughout the whole movie, the Munro family has had to place blocks under the wheels of the RV so that it doesn't roll away. There are several times in the movie, however, where they forget to do so. They forget to do so at a gas station and the Gornickes show up to help out.

They also forget to do so while at the lake, which is when the RV rolls into the lake. The last time is when they are stopped by the police officer, so that the owners of Alpine Soda could offer Mr. Munro a job. This is when the RV rolls over the police car and the car owned by the Alpine Soda guys.
