Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What 2000 comedy had the tagline "In the heart of suburbia, a hit man with heart has just moved in"?

Answer: The Whole Nine Yards

Bruce Willis played the Sammy-the-Bull-type hit man opposite "Friends" star Matt Perry. The movie was made in, and takes place in, Canada. Its French title is "Le Nouveau Voisin" ("The New Neighbor"). "The Whole Ten Yards" is the sequel, released in 2004.
2. This 2000 comedy has the tagline "If you have to believe in something, you might as well believe in love." Its title?

Answer: Keeping the Faith

Believe it or not, this comedy is about a priest (Edward Norton) and a rabbi (Ben Stiller, who is half Jewish, half Irish) in love with the same woman (Jenna Elfman). For me the funniest thing about the movie was Stiller collecting rabbi rookie cards. Stiller is also such a cool rabbi he wears his baseball cap backwards, or was that his yarmulka?
3. Another 2000 comedy headlined by a huge star was tagged "From gentle to mental," and that pretty much sums up the plot. The title?

Answer: Me, Myself and Irene

This was a Jim Carrey movie. He played Charlie Baileygates, a Rhode Island state trooper who develops multiple personalities. There's a clip after the end credits as well, a reward for us credit readers. It happens once in a while, but mostly in comedies. An exception was "Apocalypse Now," where the bombing of Kurtz's hide-out was vividly shown behind the end credits.

A lot of people missed this by running for the exits when the first word appeared on the screen. Their tough luck! They should be like us credit readers!
4. Kevin Bacon starred in this movie but paradoxically wasn't seen very much. The tagline is "Think you're alone? Think again." What's the movie called?

Answer: The Hollow Man

This is one of six taglines for this pic. Elisabeth Shue got top billing, at least on imdb.com, I guess because Kevin's character was SFX a lot of the time. Go on imdb and look at the Visual Effects credits. They look like a phone book.
5. A 2000 sports movie was tagged "Throw the ball. Catch the girl. Keep it simple." Its title?

Answer: The Replacements

Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman star in this comedy about a pro football strike and the players hired to replace the pros.
6. "No mercy. No shame. No sequel." They didn't live up to their promise when they made this spoof. What was it called?

Answer: Scary Movie

Shawn and Marlon Wayans take the credit or the blame for this movie, depending on your point of view. At least two sequels have indeed been made.
7. "Space will never be the same" is one tagline for this 2000 movie starring Clint Eastwood, James Garner, Donald Sutherland, and some other veteran stars. And the movie is . . .?

Answer: Space Cowboys

Another tagline is "Boys will be boys." This flick got laughs from the pains and limitations of older men trying to come back to their previous astronaut glory. Other candidates for prostate trouble included Tommy Lee Jones, James Cromwell, and William Devane. Eastwood directed.
8. "The life of the party . . . before she got a life." What 2000 movie starring Sandra Bullock and Viggo Mortensen bore this tagline?

Answer: 28 Days

This is the story of a woman going through rehab. Other stars are Elizabeth Perkins and Steve Buscemi. Casting against type for the delectable Sandra.
9. "A comedy about fear of commitment, hating your job, falling in love, and other pop favorites" may be a lot of help to you or none at all in coming up with the title of this John Cusack movie.

Answer: High Fidelity

This one, in which Tim Robbins makes a brief appearance as Cusack's character's ex-girlfriend's new guy, is about old-fashioned LPs as a career and a way of life. Oh, bring back the seventies!
10. This movie's tagline was "Nobody ever grows up quite like they imagined." The title is?

Answer: The Kid

Bruce Willis is the adult man, unpopular and essentially a failure. He meets an eight-year-old who turns out to be him as a child! Then some interesting things happen! Hope you enjoyed my quiz. More of this kind soon. Take care, Mickey. Source: imdb.com.
