As The Fellowship arrives in Rivendell, Elrond and Gandalf are discussing who to trust. Gandalf says this quote which Elrond does not approve of. Gandalf was played by Sir Ian McKellen, who also played Magneto in the film "X-Men" and has returned to play the character again in "X-Men 2".

As Frodo and Sam make their way towards Bree, Sam suddenly stops and says this line. Frodo takes his arm and leads him on. Sam is played by Sean Astin. You may remember him from "The Goonies", "Encino Man" and "Rudy."

In the original version Frodo reads the title when Bilbo shows him the book in Rivendell. In the extended version Bilbo is seen starting his book in Bag-End. He reads the title as he writes it and then later Frodo reads it in Rivendell.

After Frodo is stabbed by a Ringwraith, Strider decides to take Frodo to Rivendell. Sam objects with this line. However, they continue to Rivendell and Frodo's life is saved. After escaping the Ringwraiths in Bree, the Hobbits follow Strider even thought they question his reliability. Sam asks Frodo where Strider is taking them and Strider, overhearing the question, answers with this line. Aragorn/Strider was played by Viggo Mortensten, who was born in New York and spent his childhood in Manhattan.

His family also traveled and he spent several years in Venezuela, Argentina and Denmark.

After their run in with Frodo and Sam, Merry and Pippin grab the other two Hobbits and run through the field. Merry tells the others that he can't understand why the farmer is so upset because they only took some carrots. Pippin explains with this line. Pippin is played by Billy Boyd, who is a skilled singer and musician who plays the bass, drums and guitar.

After being stabbed, Frodo is taken to Rivendell. When he finally awakens, he is greeted by Elrond. Here's something I didn't know: Elrond is the son of a human father and an elf mother. Elrond is played by Hugo Weaving. He played Agent Smith in "The Matrix" and "Matrix: Reloaded".

At the secret meeting in Rivendell, Boromir opposes the idea of destroying the Ring because there is no way to get into Mordor. Legolas becomes annoyed with his attitude and says this to him. Legolas is played by Orlando Bloom. This naturally brunette actor made his debut in "LOTR." He has since appeared in "Black Hawk Down".

While inside The Prancing Pony, Pippin is asked if he knows a Baggins. He tells the men this line as Frodo runs to try and stop him. Billy Boyd, who plays Pippin, says about his character: "One thing about Pippin right from the beginning is that his whole life revolves around friendship. He loves his friends in the Shire more than anything."

While inside Moria, the Fellowship is attacked. Boromir is the first to see that the opposition has a secret weapon. A cave troll. Sean Bean says about his character, Boromir: "In the beginning, he sees The Ring simply as a solution to the problems of his people. But he finds out that it isn't quite so clear-cut, especially as he becomes susceptible to its powers."

Frodo introduces this line while walking in the field with Sam, but the actual quote here is the voice-over done by Bilbo.

As the Fellowship attempts to travel south, they stop to rest and see something in the sky. Gimli claims it is only a wisp of clouds. It turns out to be Crebain (a group of ravens), spies for Saruman. This means the passage south is being watched and the Fellowship will have to travel over the mountain.

When Frodo realizes that Bilbo has left, Gandalf explains it to him with this line. Ian McKellen says about his character, Gandalf: "I think in the creation of Gandalf, Tolkien was playing with ideas about wizards from stories and fairy tales throughout time. Gandalf is related to Merlin, and maybe even Prospero, but he also is very much his own man."

In an attempt to lead the Uruk-Hai away from Frodo, Merry and Pippin run the opposite direction, taunting the Uruk-Hai. Pippin tells Merry it is working and he replies with this line. Dominic Monaghan says about his character, Merry: "Like most Hobbits, Merry always looks on the bright side of life, but I don't think even he realizes at first how brave he can actually be.

As situations arise at the beginning of their journey, he starts to become pretty important."

After Gandalf leaves the Fellowship, Frodo is once again doubting his ability to succeed. Lady Galadriel tells him this. Cate Blanchett says about her character, Galadriel: "I loved playing Galadriel because she is so iconic. She is the one in 'The Lord of the Rings' who truly tests Frodo, I also think she has a profound message to give about taking responsibility for ourselves and our actions. And, yes, I have to admit, I have always wanted to have pointy ears!"

In an attempt to get the Ring, Boromir tells Frodo this. Frodo, however, runs away, which angers Boromir. While climbing over the mountain, Saruman attacks the Fellowship by bring down the snow from the peak of the mountain. Aragorn yells this to Gandalf, hoping to convince him to turn around. Director Peter Jackson said this about Viggo Mortensen, who plays Aragorn: "He's incredibly dedicated.

He's the kind of an actor who one day had his tooth knocked out by a sword and actually asked if they could superglue it back on so he could finish the scene. He became Aragorn, and he brings a real power to the role."
