Sophie and her friends are glad to see each other because of Sophie's wedding. As soon as they see each other, they say their chant.

After Sophie jumps off the boat and swims to shore, she and Sky sing "Lay All Your Love on Me".

Sophie and Bill are dancing and talking when Bill realizes that he might be Sophie's father because his great aunt left Donna money. Bill's great aunt only left money to family. Unlike Sam and Harry, Bill is reluctant to accept the fact that Sophie is his daughter.

He isn't sure if he can handle being her father, but he does agree to give her away and he eventually comes around to the idea of having a daughter.

The night before Tanya sings "Does Your Mother Know", Tanya and Pepper dance and flirt at Sophie's bachelorette party. Some of the ABBA songs that are featured in Mamma Mia are "Dancing Queen", "Take a Chance on Me" and "The Winner Takes It All."
These songs are important to "Mamma Mia" not only because they are entertaining, but also because they help you to better understand different parts of the movie. For example, "Dancing Queen" lets us know what Donna and the Dynamos were like before they 'grew up'.

Near the beginning of the movie Sophie explains that the hotel was once the site of Aphrodite's fountain (the goddess of love)and that if you drink from her fountain you are supposed to find true love and perfect happiness. When the water bursts from the crack, it seems as if everyone has found true love -Donna and Sam, Rosie and Bill, Harry and a man that we don't learn the name of, possibly Tanya and Pepper, and of course...Sophie and Sky!
