Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Here's Johnny!"

Answer: Jack Torrance ("The Shining")

This cult classic line is spoken right as Jack has used an axe to cut a large slit into a locked door Wendy Torrance has been using to keep him away from her. After cutting the slit, Jack sticks his head into it and says this line. Shortly after this, he tried to open the door but was turned away as Wendy stabbed his hand. The rest of the movie sees him pursue her similarly.

"The Shining" portrays the deteriorating state of mental health of Jack Torrance as he is caretaker in a hotel amidst dreadful weather. His stay, along with that of his wife and child, gets progressively worse until he completely loses his mind and attacks his wife viciously.
2. "Do you want to play a game?"

Answer: Jigsaw ("Saw")

This classic, trademark-esque line is spoken many times by Jigsaw, the main antagonist in "Saw" movies. It is almost always said right after Jigsaw slowly turns his head toward a camera that is being used to record him. As should be fairly clear, the question is rhetorical- Jigsaw and/or one of his henchmen have already captured the person he is speaking to as he says this, meaning they are about to be subject to one of his brutal, disturbingly brilliant and unique death traps.

This generally tends to happen in every movie within the franchise.
3. "Do you like scary movies?"

Answer: Ghostface ("Scream")

In every "Scream" movie, Ghostface will always begin with his very first soon-to-be victim by asking them this question. As the character he is speaking to is normally taken off guard by the fact a stranger has called them to ask this, this question is usually met by confusion, dismissal or both initially.

A recurring theme is that they never actually give him a straight answer, though when he asks which scary movie is his soon-to-be victim's favorite, they'll give him an answer and he will later quiz them on their answer- with a deadly punishment should they get it wrong.
4. "The box- you opened it, we came."

Answer: Pinhead ("Hellraiser")

This quote is spoken masterfully with authority, as Doug Bradley (actor for Pinhead) delivers it with enthusiasm and a tone perfectly suited for a horror film. In this particular scene, Kirsty Cotton encounters the Cenobites at her hospital bedroom as she tinkers with the Lament Configuration. Meddling with this 'box' has the consequence of bringing forth the Cenobites- these sinister demons are never a friendly sight, yet they are ever prevalent in every single movie within the franchise.

The box itself has a large monetary value, as it is seen being sold and changing hands that way in three different movies, often for thousands of dollars.
5. "A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti."

Answer: Hannibal Lecter ("Silence of the Lambs")

This quote is spoken in the early 1990's classic, "Silence of the Lambs". This was the first film of its type to feature an antagonist who was so open and nonchalant about cannibalism. In this particular scene, Hannibal Lecter is recounting an experience to FBI trainee.

In this particular movie, Lecter is in custody and is being interrogated regarding a case loosely involving him. Lecter himself is incredibly intelligent but is only loosely willing to assist.
6. "Darling. Light of my life. I'm not going to hurt you. You didn't let me finish my sentence. I said, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm just going to bash your brains in."

Answer: Jack Torrance ("The Shining")

During an epic monologue which truly puts Jack's deteriorating mental health on display, he says this as he is seemingly trying to talk Wendy down as she swings at him with a baseball bat. Wendy is able to fend him off briefly and buy herself some time, but he is never far behind as she flees.
7. "Whatever you do, don't fall asleep."

Answer: Nancy Thompson ("Nightmare on Elm Street")

Nancy says this to her boyfriend Glen as she asks to watch over her while she sleeps. Unfortunately for her, he fails to fulfill this request. As a result, Nancy experiences yet another encounter with Freddy Krueger where he continues to emotionally torment her. Her thinking was that perhaps Glen could wake her up and they could lure Freddy out in the open, to deal with him when he'd be more vulnerable and not on what is basically his home turf- the Dream World.

"Nightmare on Elm Street" movies star Krueger as the main antagonist. The proclaimed "Dream Demon" is able to seamlessly beckon in and torture anyone he pleases, with an evil twist- if someone is killed by him while dreaming, they also die in real life. This makes staying awake paramount to his victims' survival.
8. "Oh no tears please. It is a waste of good suffering."

Answer: Pinhead ("Hellraiser")

Pinhead says this to Kirsty Cotton shortly after she has accidentally summoned the Cenobites and is pleading them to leave her alone. This quote shows just how deranged and heinous the Cenobites truly are.

The Lament Configuration or, 'the box', is the catalyst to every single movie in the franchise. The box itself has a large monetary value, as it is seen being sold and changing hands that way in three different movies, often for thousands of dollars.
9. "They're coming to get you, Barbara."

Answer: Johnny ("Night of the Living Dead")

Barbara and Johnny are at a cemetery to pay their respects, when Johnny begins teasing Barbara about how the dead will rise and get her. They are then immediately attacked by a zombie who proceeds to try and do exactly that. After the encounter, Johnny is next seen having been turned into a zombie himself, fallen victim to his own joke in a manner of speaking.

"Night of the Living Dead" is generally viewed as the pioneer of the zombie survival subgenre within horror movies. Directed by the legendary George Romero himself, it is a basic tale about the walking dead attacking and devouring anything they can get their hands on, with the few living who remain doing everything they can to stay safe and away from the zombies.
10. "You hang up on me again, I'll gut you like a fish, understand?"

Answer: Ghostface ("Scream")

This is one of the first things Ghostface says to Casey during the first "Scream" movie. This is the liner which turns the mood from being fairly creepy and weird into being downright terrifying and dangerous. This is a fairly regular twist for Ghostface to undergo when talking with a prospective victim.
