Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which movie features the Tiki Motel?

Answer: The Terminator

In "The Terminator", a machine from the future is sent back in time to kill the mother of the future leader of the resistance (Sarah). The Tiki Motel is where Sarah and Kyle get romantic while making bombs, until the Terminator shows up. The German Shepherd dog seen barking at the Terminator outside the Tiki Motel belonged to director James Cameron.
2. In which movie do you see the Metacortex Company?

Answer: The Matrix

A computer programmer/hacker finds out that reality isn't what it seems in "The Matrix". The Metacortex Company is where Mr. Anderson (Neo) works in his little cubicle, until he gets the phone call from Morpheus and is captured by the Agents. He is subsequently released, after being bugged, and then meets up with Morpheus who helps him open his eyes to the real world.
3. Name the movie that features La Belle Aurore?

Answer: Casablanca

La Belle Aurore is the café where Rick and Ilsa liaise in Paris just before WWII. They meet later in Morocco where Rick helps Ilsa's husband escape the Nazis. The café is seen in the flashback scenes, where Sam plays "As Time Goes By". Rick mentions it just before one of his memorable lines, "I remember every detail. The Germans wore gray, you wore blue."
4. In which movie will you find Eye World?

Answer: Blade Runner

In a future LA, rogue androids that can pass for human have to be "retired", which is the job of the Blade Runners. Eye World is where Roy and Leon coax Chew to help them get to Tyrell. Roy Batty: "Chew, if only you could see what I've seen with your eyes!"
There are 5 different versions of this film. All of them are available in a box set, the "Final Cut" being the director's final tinkering with it.
5. Which movie features Buxton, Maine?

Answer: The Shawshank Redemption

Inside a harsh prison, a wrongly convicted man finds hope and friendship in "The Shawshank Redemption". Andy tells Red to do him a favour if he ever gets out of Shawshank. He tells him to go and get something, which is under the rock by the long rock wall with the oak tree at the end, in the hayfield in Buxton, Maine.
Being a Stephen King story, I guess the Maine reference was inevitable.
6. Which film takes us to Klendathu?

Answer: Starship Troopers

A satirical look at a future Earth, run by a fascist military regime, being attacked by an alien species who resent colonisation of their homeworld. Klendathu is the bug homeworld. The film was based on a story by Robert A. Heinlein. "The only good bug is a dead bug!"
7. In which movie do we find Ruby Lingerie?

Answer: Enemy of the State

The murder of a high-ranking government official is accidentally caught on camera, and the perpetrators who want the evidence will destroy lives to get it. Will Smith's character is at Ruby Lingerie to buy his wife some lingerie, but doesn't know the size.

The video evidence of the murder is slipped into his bag and his life starts to fall apart. The storefront for the lingerie shop was actually a bookshop in Washington DC.
8. Name the movie that shows Arles Amphitheatre?

Answer: Ronin

A group of mercenaries are hired to recover a bag. When they are double-crossed they take matters into their own hands, in "Ronin". Sam (De Niro) and Vincent (Reno) searching for Gregor (Skarsgård) find him negotiating with some Russians in the amphitheatre. A gunfight ensues and Sam is injured.
Vincent Van Gogh moved to Arles and produced over 300 paintings there, as well as cutting off his ear.
9. Which movie features the Banzai Institute?

Answer: The Adventures of Buckeroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

Evil invaders from the 8th dimension arrive. Who can stop them? Buckeroo Banzai; Rock Musician, Neurosurgeon, Samurai and Adventurer, with some help from his band, the Hong Kong Cavaliers. The Banzai Institute For Biomedical Engineering and Strategic Information is a think-tank located in Holland Township, New Jersey.

This is where the Oscillation Overthruster is developed that allows inter-dimensional travel. An odd, but interesting cult film from 1984. It is referenced in many later films and TV shows including; "Back to the Future", "Mad Max 3", "The Matrix Reloaded", "Star Trek: TNG", "Stargate SG-1" and even "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou".
10. In which movie do we see Area 51?

Answer: Independence Day

In "Independence Day", aliens come to Earth and set about destroying it. A small group of scientists and military plan to fight back. Area 51 is where the alien spacecraft and aliens are being studied by Dr. Okun, played by Brent Spiner, Commander Data from "Star Trek: TNG". The President going into battle at the end would have been the first President to do so since James Madison in the war of 1812.
Although the "X Files" TV series had many references to Area 51, actual or implied, it is not referred to in the "X Files" movie.
