1. (2000) "You wore control-top pantyhose?" - Darcy "Did you put a pair in the box?" - Nick "And how did you look in them?" - Darcy "Hot." - Nick

Answer: What Women Want

When a freak accident allows him to hear what women are thinking, Nick has no compunction at all about using the ability to achieve his own ends, at least not at first! This interchange takes place between Nick and his new boss, while Nick is explaining how far he was willing to go to try and understand the special needs of advertising to women. Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt starred, under Nancy Meyers' direction.
2. (1993) "Water - women have, on average, about 5% more of it than men, making them subject to different forces of gravity. Oh don't take my word for it, look it up in Newton, it's there." - McLeod "Can't they be drained? I'm serious." - Chuck "Well, I believe they're waiting for us to drink more fluids." - McLeod

Answer: The Man Without a Face

Chuck Norstadt wants to pass the entrance exams to a boarding school, so that he can get away from his predominantly female home. He recruits the aid of a local recluse, a former teacher who has been badly scarred in a car accident. Being without a father, Chuck also asks McLeod to explain to him why women were so different from men - which is when this exchange occurs. Mel Gibson directed himself, Nick Stahl, Margaret Whitton and Richard Masur in this very powerful movie.
3. (1995) "Go back to England and tell them that Scotland's daughters and sons are yours no more. Tell them Scotland is free." - William Wallace

Answer: Braveheart

Loosely based on a true story, "Braveheart" tells the story of William Wallace and his fight to free Scotland from English oppression. Answer: Maverick

This hysterically funny western tells the story of 'the poker game of the century', and all the trickery and double-crossing that goes on as everyone tries to lay their hands on the substantial cash prize. This quote occurs at the very end of the movie when Annabel reveals that she has figured out that Maverick and Cooper are son and father, just before she relieves them of some of the money. Richard Donner directed and Jodie Foster, James Garner and Mel Gibson starred.
5. (1995) "Why do you think the Indians attacked?"- Governor Ratcliffe "Because we invaded their land, cut down their trees and dug up their earth?" - Wiggins

Answer: Pocahontas

This Disney animated classic is loosely based on the real story of the friendship between Englishman John Smith, and Indian Princess Pocahontas. Governor Ratcliffe is in charge of the expedition to the New World, and his greedy, grabbing ways would have gotten them all killed, were it not for this love. David Ogden Stiers, Irene Bedard, Mel Gibson and Christian Bale lent their voice talents to this entertaining film.
6. (2000) "It appears that you are not the better man." - Colonel William Tavington "You're right. My sons were better men." - Benjamin Martin

Answer: The Patriot

He didn't want to get involved in the American fight for independence, until they killed his son ...then it became personal. This exchange occurred between Martin and Tavington, the man who personally killed Martin's sons, just before Martin killed him. Roland Emmerich directed this film which starred Heath Ledger, Mel Gibson and Jason Isaacs.
7. 1987) "You're not trying to draw a psycho pension...you really are crazy!" - Roger Murtaugh

Answer: Lethal Weapon

On his 50th birthday Sergeant Murtaugh is assigned a new partner, Sergeant Martin Riggs. The problem is that since the death of his wife Riggs has been a bit of a crazy man. Half the department thinks he's really psychotic and suicidal, and the other half thinks he's faking it. Murtaugh hands Riggs his gun and tells him to make a stand one way or another.

This comment was made when Murtaugh realizes that Riggs probably would have gone ahead and killed himself. Richard Donner directed this action-packed, funny series of films that starred Danny Glover and Mel Gibson.
