Answer: Cheerleading

On the first day of school, Patty Simcox introduced herself to Sandy and said she hoped to see her at cheerleading tryouts, as on the cheerleading squad they would "have lots of fun and become life-long friends!" Sandy did join the cheerleading squad, and was seeing cheering at the pep rally a few days later, where the girls re-introduced Sandy to Danny.

This was when Danny tried to act cool in front of his friends, rather than sweet like he'd been with Sandy over the summer.

Answer: She saw blood.

The girls were clearly thinking that Sandy was not as cool as them, having never smoked or really drank before. Frenchy offered to pierce her ears, and insisted when Sandy was reluctant. They went into the bathroom, where a scream was heard. Frenchy then came out saying that Sandy got sick after seeing the blood.

While Sandy was still in the bathroom, Rizzo and the girls sang "Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee", poking fun at Sandy.

Answer: Tom

Lorenzo Lamas played Tom Chisum, the athlete that Sandy started going out with to get over her feelings for Danny. Seeing Sandy with Tom inspired Danny to try to excel at a school sport to impress her. After trying basketball, wrestling and baseball, Danny turned to track.

While he was running hurdles, he was distracted by Sandy talking to Tom nearby and tripped. Sandy rushed over to Danny and they ended up leaving together. Danny eventually earned a letter in track.

Answer: Tea

Danny and Sandy became an item after he apologized to her for the way he acted when he first saw her at school. When Sandy told him he was invited over for tea, in front of everyone at the Frosty Palace, Danny replied that he didn't like tea. She told him he didn't have to drink tea, so then he said "Well, I don't like parents."

Answer: Like a Hallmark card

Rizzo and Kenickie had gotten together the night of the sleepover at Frenchy's house. Later, at the Frosty Palace, Rizzo complained that she had so many hickeys, she looked like a leper. Kenickie told her that having "a hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card - when you care enough to send the very best". That same night at the Frosty Palace, Rizzo and Kenickie bickered off and on, and eventually Rizzo threw a milkshake in his face and stormed out.

Answer: Cha-Cha

During the dance contest, Sandy and Danny got separated in the confusion of people on the dance floor and he ended up dancing with Cha-Cha DiGregorio (the self-described best dancer at St. Bernadette's), who he said was "just a girl I know, that's all", implying that they'd previously been together. Later, Danny told Sandy that he and Cha-Cha "didn't go together, we just went together, that's all." Danny and Cha-Cha won the contest, dancing to the song "Hand Jive".

They then had to dance a spotlight dance, to "Blue Moon". Cha-Cha had originally come to the dance as Kenickie's date. Even though Sandy was upset that Danny won the contest with someone else, she forgave him.

Answer: The drive-in

The whole gang was at the drive-in. Danny and Sandy were alone in his car, and he accidentally elbowed her while trying to get his ring off his finger. He then offered it to her and she accepted. Shortly afterwards, she threw it back in his face and left him there alone when he tried to go further with her than she wanted.

It was also at the drive-in where Rizzo told Marty that she thought she might be pregnant, asking her to keep it a secret. Marty let it slip almost immediately and the word spread very quickly among all the teens at the drive-in.

Answer: "It's as hot as the parts on it."

Greased Lightnin' was finally finished in the school's auto shop shortly before the big race at Thunder Road. Mrs. Murdock told the boys that the car was "as hot as the parts on it", and Sonny defended it, saying that some parts were "donated", not stolen.

They had previously said they stole the back fender from Putzie's mother's car, after he asked "what piece of junk" they'd taken it from. When asked if she was coming to Thunder Road, Mrs. Murdock said she wouldn't let them down, and expected them not to let her down.

Answer: Ownership of their cars

When Kenickie arrived at Thunder Road in his car, Leo (the leader of the Scorpions, referred to in the film as 'Crater Face') made fun of it, saying that he didn't think the car was any better than it was before. Kenickie said he was confident that he could win, and Leo said that was good because they were "racing for pinks".

When Kenickie looked confused, Leo said he meant pink slips - ownership papers. Danny ended up driving Kenickie's car in the race because just before it started Kenickie was knocked out when he was hit with a car door. Danny won, of course.

Answer: You're the One That I Want

Danny showed up at the carnival in his letterman's sweater, but when he saw Sandy's new 'bad girl' look, he quickly shed the sweater and they sang "You're the One That I Want" together. Olivia-Newton John has said in interviews that she actually had to be sewn into that skin-tight outfit.

Shortly after "You're the One That I Want", the whole gang, together again after Rizzo and Kenickie made up, sang "We Go Together" as the movie ended.
