Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Michael Douglas as the Number One guy who meets Annette Bening, gal from Virginia. "By the way, nice shoes". Such a romantic flick. I've seen this one at least 30 times. What is the name of the this wonderful romantic flick?

Answer: The American President

There are so many great things about this movie. Michael Douglas is such a Romeo in anything he does. I really enjoyed his pairing with Kathleen Turner in the "Romancing the Stone" movies, but he has a certain aura with Annette.
2. Julia Roberts was so great the first time she teamed with Richard Gere. What is the name of this flick with the very expensive necklace?

Answer: Pretty Woman

Roy Orbison created this song with Julia Roberts in mind, no doubt. I'm just kidding, don't write me on that comment! "The Runaway Bride" was good, but "Pretty Woman" was the best. From the polo game to the slippery little suckers in the restaurant.
3. Oh yes, Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater meet each other in this 1997 movie. It's based on a true story. What is the name of this long enjoyable flick?

Answer: Titanic

I couldn't get up to get a refill of popcorn in this long movie. It was so good, I didn't want to miss a moment. I'm not a major fan of Leonardo, but in this flick, he proved himself a gentleman in my eyes. My favorite scene is when she "spits like a man".
4. Sandra Bullock plays Lucy in this cute romantic flick with Bill "yum yum" Pullman. What is the name of this cute flick having to do with comas?

Answer: While You Were Sleeping

Bill Pullman always seems to lose the girl. From losing the girl in "Sommersby" to losing the girl in "Sleepless in Seattle". He just never seemed to get it right until he teams up with Sandra Bullock. I really like Sandra Bullock, but could she use a little less stupid facial expressions sometimes?
5. Robbie Benson plays a hockey player that is in love with Lynn-Holly Johnson in this ice skating movie. What is the name of this flick?

Answer: Ice Castles

"We forgot about the roses". I haven't seen this flick in many years. Love the song "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" in this movie too.
6. Jamaica, we have a bobsled team. Yes, John Candy put this one into the Olympics. What is the name of this movie?

Answer: Cool Runnings

This was the first movie I had ever seen with Doug E. Doug. He was so funny in this true story. It never fails, at the end, I start tearing up. What a great movie!
7. Rustle up them there herd, we be going out and rounding up the cattle and moving them along. Yee haw, what movie is this with Billy Crystal?

Answer: City Slickers

Do you remember when Jack Palance won the Best Supporting Oscar in 1992, he threw himself down and started doing some push-ups. What a cowboy!
8. This early 1960 movie has Jack Lemmon straining his spaghetti with a tennis racket. What award movie is this regarding a "Key"?

Answer: The Apartment

Shirley MacLaine, Jack Lemmon and Jack Kruschen were all nominated for Oscars for this movie. Not one of them picked one up. However, "The Apartment" did win for Best Picture and Billy Wilder won for Best Director.
9. Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler and Diane Keaton get even with men in this 1996 movie. What is the name of this movie with Ivana Trump?

Answer: The First Wives Club

I think that this movie should be handed out to every woman when she is getting a divorce. I like the way Ivana puts it "Don't get mad, get everything". Sorry guys, but this was a great one!
10. Happy times, sad times, funny times, crying times. What is this 1983 award winning movie with Debra Winger, Jack Nicholson and Shirley MacLaine?

Answer: Terms of Endearment

The lines in this movie are so great. I think my favorite line is when Aurora and Emma are laying on the bed and Aurora is trying to describe her sex life with Garrett.
11. Let's play the glad game with Hayley Mills. What delightful movie is this that stars Ronald Reagan's first wife?

Answer: Pollyanna

Jane Wyman stars as Aunt Polly, who takes in her orphaned niece, Hayley Mills. Hayley Mills won the Special Oscar for the Juvenile Award in 1961 for the Most Outstanding Juvenile Performance in 1960. Do you think Jim Carrey got that award for "Ace Ventura" and "Mask" and "Dumb and Dumber" and... I could go on and on.
12. This boy is actually in more than one movie, so just give me the wizard's name with a muggle aunt and uncle?

Answer: Harry Potter

I simply love "Harry Potter". I've read the books, I've seen the movies. It is probably the cutest series around. Did you know that bad boy Draco is played by Tom Felton. Tom was Jodie Foster's son in "Anna and the King".
13. "Summer loving, had me a blast". There were two Johns in this oily picture. What 1978 movie is this?

Answer: Grease

Olivia Newton John and John Travolta teamed up in this '50s style movie. I swear, I could watch John Travolta dance all the time. He's quite the dancer. "Saturday Night Fever", "Grease", "Urban Cowboy", "Staying Alive" to "Pulp Fiction". That man can dance. Oh, Vinnie Barbarino I adore you!
14. This gentleman was portrayed by Tom Hanks. He fought in the war in Vietnam, he built his own shrimping business. He was a good friend to Jenny. What is this movie?

Answer: Forrest Gump

"My name is Forrest, Forrest Gump, but my friends call me Forrest". If you've played my other quizzes, then you know that I love this movie and I adore Tom Hanks. I liked him since "Splash" with Daryl Hannah. What a genuine sweet guy. I also remember Robin Wright from the "Santa Barbara" days. That was probably the most wildest soap opera ever.
15. Oh Rosie, Oh Charlie. Let's take a boat ride and use it as torpedo. What lovely movie is this?

Answer: The African Queen

Humphrey Bogart won his one and only Oscar for his portrayal of Charlie Allnut. Humphrey did pick up two nominations for "Casablanca" and "The Caine Mutiny", but only won for "The African Queen".
