Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When everyone gathers to see Where's Fluffy? at Brooklyn Pool (BK Pool), they realize too late that another band has pulled a "bait and switch" and Where's Fluffy? is not there after all. What band has pulled the "bait and switch"?

Answer: Are You Randy?

According to Norah, this isn't the first time Are You Randy? has pulled this kind of a stunt. Once everyone knew that Where's Fluffy? wasn't playing everyone leaves as fast as they can. The only person left is one guy who is legitimately excited for Are You Randy? and he proceeds to take his shirt off and rock out in a freestyle Ska fashion that is not frequently seen any more...with good reason.

The front man of the band is also seen many times throughout the movie, specifically at the first bar making out with Caroline and then again at the actual Where's Fluffy? concert.
2. Even though they promise to deliver Caroline to her home, Thom, Dev, and Lethario stop to get a snack and while they are gone, Caroline escapes from the van because she mistook them for kidnappers/sexual predators. Where are they getting snacks when she disappears?

Answer: Gray's Papaya

As Thom calls Nick to break the bad news that they lost Caroline, he is standing in front of Gray's Papaya, which is a well-known hot dog joint that has four locations on the West Side of Manhattan that are open 24 hours.
3. What is the name of the recording studio that Norah's father, Ira, owns?

Answer: Electric Lady Studios

Electric Lady Studios is a real recording studio and it is located in Greenwich Village at 52 West 8th Street. It was founded by Jimi Hendrix in 1970 and has been the recording studio for a wide variety of artists including; Curtis Mayfield, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, John Lennon, The Clash, Common, Stevie Wonder, and Led Zeppelin.
4. Norah's "friend with benefits", Tal, is trying to get her to give his heavily Jewish influenced band's new CD to her famous music mogul father. What is the name of Tal's band?

Answer: Oz-Rael

Norah is quite visibly flabbergasted by the album cover art and the title of the band itself, as Tal describes it by saying that they "bring the Jew fire". The album is shown briefly and includes an enormous Star of David, surrounded in flames, and the three band members standing in the foreground. After seeing the clever cover art Nick creates for one of his "Closure" CDs for Tris, even a novice can see how awful their CD looks.
5. What kind of car does Nick drive?

Answer: Yugo

The Yugo was first designed and popularized in the late 1970s, but was heavily criticized for its Fiat technology. Also, like the Pinto, it was discovered too late that the car's weight simply could not hold up to natural weather events; in one unfortunate example, a woman, in 1989, was driving in her 1987 Yugo across the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan when it was blown over a 36" protective guardrail by a 50 mph gust of wind. This tragedy was widely publicized and the Yugo was never able to recover from the damaging publicity.
6. The gang eventually finds Caroline at an all-gay Christmas burlesque show, after Thom deciphers Caroline's clue that she is "with an altar boy that had no pants on". When they arrive at the show they don't see Caroline at first, but she eventually emerges onstage as a part of the show. What is her costume when she appears onstage?

Answer: Christmas tree

When Caroline sees that Nick is coming onstage to fetch her so that they can leave, she refers to him as "Yugo" and thinks he has come to rescue her. Throughout the whole film, Caroline never once refers to Nick by his actual name, but instead calls him Yugo or Super Cuts (because of his presumably cheap and overly 'heterosexual' haircut).
7. Caroline is deteremined to maintain the freshness and possession of a piece of gum throughout the majority of the film. This piece of gum was not hers to begin with. Whose was it?

Answer: Randy of 'Are You Randy?'

Norah and Caroline first meet Nick and his band after they play a show in New York City; this was their first stop in the city on their search for Where's Fluffy?. Even though Caroline promises Norah she will not get drunk and leave her, while at the bar, a heavily intoxicated Caroline is seen making out with Randy of Are You Randy?, and she is seen biting his gum while kissing him, stretching it between them, and then taking it altogether.

This piece of gum goes on a wild ride throughout the evening, as she later gives it to Norah, who gives it to Nick, who eventually spits it out and hits Randy in the head at the Where's Fluffy? show.
8. Which of the following is NOT one of the bars/clubs that Nick and Norah travel to at some point throughout the night?

Answer: Gramercy Theater

They travel to the Bowery Ballroom after a drunk couple jump into Nick's Yugo, mistaking it for a cab. When they arrive, Norah goes to the bathroom and gets a clue in the stall that Where's Fluffy? is playing at Brooklyn (BK) Pool, so rather than continue their search for Caroline they head to Brooklyn. Later in the evening they get a clue that Caroline is with an "altar-boy with no pants on" and Thom leads them to the all-male gay review at Camera Obscura, where they finally find Caroline.
9. At the end of the film Nick and Norah share a kiss and a conversation on the escalator going into a subway station. What real New York City subway station are they about to enter?

Answer: Pennsylvania Station

The funniest thing about this scene is that, like many films that take place in real time and in real places, the film wasn't able to shut down the entrance to the station during filming. In the outtakes on the DVD release, there is a clip of this scene where they are literally pushed out of the way and verbally chastised by a real New Yorker, irritated that they were taking up the entire escalator when he was obviously trying to use it.
10. Besides a band name that lasts longer than one night, Nick, Dev, and Thom's band is still missing one vital element. What are they missing?

Answer: Drums

Norah makes a joke about this early in the film, as they choose to use a children's drum machine for their first gig, just to have some drum noise present. Of course this leads to Nick being embarrassed when he cannot figure out how to turn the machine off and he is left onstage, being booed by the audience until Thom kicks the cord to unplug it.
