Quentin Tarantino is known for his quirky, un-related dialogue in his movies. Most of the time, the characters are discussing something completely unrelated to the story, which is seemingly random. Though, one could argue that these little chats between characters are what make the movies so enjoyable to watch.

Vincent tells Jules that when he went to McDonalds in Paris, they called a quarter pounder a Royale with Cheese because of the metric system.

Jules and Vincent discuss why they think Marsellus Wallace threw Tony off the balcony. Jules says he heard it was because Tony gave Mia, Marsellus' wife, a foot massage, and was thrown over the balcony for it. Vincent implicates that it was sexual, but Jules disagrees and says that it sounds crazy. Later, Mia Wallace says that Tony never gave her a foot massage, and that the only people who know why Marsellus threw Tony off the balcony are Marsellus and Tony.

Jules' Bible verse he says before he shoots someone (in this case Brett), is from Ezekiel 25:17.
"And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee."
Jules says this sounds like a cool thing to say before killing someone, so he likes to say it.

When Vincent and Mia are in the restaurant, Mia orders a $5 milkshake. Vincent comments on how expensive it is, and wonders why. He asks her to try some when the waiter brings it to the table, and she lets him use her straw, saying "Don't worry, I don't have cooties." Vincent takes a sip, and says what a good milkshake it is, and they carry on with their conversation.

It is Mia (not Fabienne) who enters Vincent and herself in a twist competition. Reluctantly, Vincent agrees to go up and dance. He ends up being pretty good at it. This is a nod to John Travolta in "Saturday Night Fever", and almost makes fun of the movie, since "Pulp Fiction" has the same actor in the same kind of scene. Vincent and Mia apparently win the twist competition, as they are seen with the trophy later.

Some viewers believe that they stole the trophy, but there is no evidence of this.

Answer: WWII

Captain Koons did mention Hanoi and used some slang terms for Vietnamese people in his monologue about the gold watch, but don't be fooled - Butch's grandfather fought in War II. Koons fought in Vietnam with Butch's father, and that was the reason for the mention of Vietnam.

He says near the middle of the monologue how Butch's great-grandfather fought in WWI, but that Butch's grandfather (the one who gave Koons the gold watch) fought in WWII.

Although Butch ultimately uses a samurai sword against his attackers, the first weapon he picked up, thinking he would use, was a hammer, then a baseball bat, then a chainsaw, then the samurai sword.

After shooting a man in the head in a moving car accidentally (or so he says), Vincent tells Jules they should pull over and get cleaned up, since a car splattered with blood obviously looks suspicious. Jules goes to his friend Jimmy's house and puts the car in his garage. Jimmy eventually gets mad at Jules because Jimmy's wife Bonnie is about to come home, in 40 minutes or so.

A man is called to "solve this problem", named "The Wolf". He comes to Jimmy's house to tell Vincent and Jules what to do about all this.

But first, he says, "I'm Winston Wolf, I solve problems."

Answer: The Bathroom

Luckily, Vincent was not in the main part of the restaurant when Honey Bunny and Pumpkin rob it. He was in the bathroom. Eventually, when Jules is negotiating with Pumpkin, Vincent comes out of the bathroom, ready to back up Jules if he needs it. This is off screen, but it is assumed that Vincent's quick thinking and surveying of his surroundings told him something was up, and that's why we see him come into the main restaurant.
