Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What card game did Auric Goldfinger play in the opening sequence of "Goldfinger"?

Answer: Gin rummy

Goldfinger cheated at it too, with some help from his lovely assistant, Jill Masterson. Jill and Bond took a night off from their jobs and spent it together, before Goldfinger's assistant, Oddjob, covered Jill with golden paint, which killed her.
2. What was the name of the sexy Miami Beach Hotel assistant whom Bond had the pleasure to know in "Goldfinger"?

Answer: Dink

Bond introduced Dink to Felix Leiter - the CIA worker who assists Bond throughout his missions - before 007 told her to go away for a moment to talk with Leiter. We didn't see her again for the rest of the movie.
3. In "Goldfinger", who said the following quote "You like a close shave, don't you"?

Answer: Pussy Galore

Miss Galore, Goldfinger's personal assistant, said this to 007 after he finished shaving in the airplane bathroom. Galore gave Bond the cold shoulder the first time they met, but by the end of the movie, they were seen kissing on a Mid-Atlantic forest.
4. Goldfinger owned what type of car in "Goldfinger"?

Answer: Rolls-Royce

The car was made out of 18 carat gold according to the movie. In the novel of the same name, the car was made out of white gold. The Bond vehicles are always an exciting thing to watch for in the films, and "Goldfinger" marked the first time the famous Aston Martin DB5 appeared in a Bond film.
5. The name of the nerve gas that was going to be used to kill everybody in Fort Knox in "Goldfinger" was called Noble gas-54.

Answer: False

The actual name of the gas Goldfinger planned to use was Delta-9 nerve gas. Bond couldn't stop the plan, but Goldfinger's assistant did. Pussy Galore called the CIA about the plan.
6. In "Goldfinger", who warned Bond by saying "Choose your next witticism carefully Mr. Bond, it may be your last"?

Answer: Auric Goldfinger

Goldfinger warned him after Bond thanked the villian for the demonstration of his laser. Soon, he planed to demonstrate the laser on 007! Bond bluffed his way out of the laser's path, however, and so our hero was saved.
7. What sport is associated with the code name for Goldfinger's dastardly plan in the film "Goldfinger"?

Answer: Baseball

"Operation Grand Slam" involved breaking into the Fort Knox gold reserve and irradiating the gold with a nuclear weapon, thus increasing the value of Goldfinger's own gold tenfold. A grand slam in baseball terms means a player hits a homerun with the bases loaded.
8. Auric Goldfinger was one of few villians throughout the whole Bond franchise that was never physically harmed or killed by James Bond.

Answer: False

Goldfinger and Bond fought at the end of the movie. Both 007 and Goldfinger were harmed. It was not clear if either Bond killed him, of if Goldfinger killed himself. When the gun went off, shattering a window and depressurizing the cabin, Goldfinger was sucked out of the window.

The actor who played Goldfinger was Gert Frobe, who spoke very little English. His lines for the film had to be overdubbed by Michael Collins. The only time Frobe's real voice was heard at all for the movie was during the trailers, where he spoke two lines without the overdubbing.
9. "I must have appealed to her _______ instincts." What fills in the blank for this quote from the film "Goldfinger"?

Answer: Maternal

Bond said this after learning that Pussy Galore called the CIA about Operation Grand Slam. Ms. Galore switched the dangerous gas with harmless gas, and all the town civilians and members of the army acted as though the gas affected them.
10. In "Goldfinger", which of the following countries weren't represented in the switching license plates on Bond's car?

Answer: United States

4711-EA-62 was the French license, LU 6789 was the Swiss one, and the UK one was BMT 216A. These switching license plates helped blend in Bond's car so he wasn't caught spying on people. I hope you enjoyed my quiz!
