Answer: Getting a degree ..... in scamming

The tagline about higher education refers to the fact that the characters Dave, Sam, and Jeff have cheated their way through four years of higher education at Holden University. Their talents in manipulation have landed them great grades, the best apartment on campus, and the power to fool women. Everyone would want to be slackers like them if they could! Unfortunately, as graduations looms, Dave is caught cheating by fellow student Ethan (Jason Schwartzman).

When they are blackmailed by Ethan, they have to pull the ultimate scam in order to get him the girl of his dreams - Angela. Only by helping Ethan can they hope to stay in school.

The tagline "when all else fails..." can refer to their failure to help Ethan win over Angela and their subsequent expulsion.

They still manage to come out on top in the end with a simple scam!

Answer: Physics

Sam actually fakes getting hit by an Airborne Express truck, so Jeff can steal the test booklets from the back! Meanwhile, Dave (played by the charming Devon Sawa) pretends to be enrolled in the class in order to steal the exam for Sam. Back at their room, a brainy student is ready to give Sam the answers in return for money. Sam - who is on fake crutches - then takes the finished exam to Professor Markoe's office where he asks to be allowed to take the test late.

He explains that he was hit by a truck, causing him to miss the test.

Answer: Ethan Dulles

You might not have noticed him, but Ethan's there! This is just one of the scenarios in the dream sequence. The boys also celebrate being a threesome by riding a bicycle built for three, flying over a city dressed as characters from Peter Pan, and starring in a music video with beautiful women.

In an interesting side note, Jason Schwartzman's band, Phantom Planet, provided some of the music in the movie.

Ethan pulls out a poster of a monkey in the bathroom that says "I'm Bad!" He also gives her a troll doll pencil, in hopes that these gifts will help him win Angela (played by Jamie King) over, but she is in love with Dave.

Answer: Throws all the exams in the air and runs out of the room

When the professor (played by the hilarious Michael McDonald of Mad TV fame) tells Jeff he's already failed for not handing in his test when the time was up, Jeff asks if he even knows his name. When the professor says no, Jeff mixes his test in with everyone else's, throws them all in the air, and bolts!

Dave pretends to be Ethan during a job interview there and makes a bad impression on the interviewer, so that when the real Ethan shows up later for his interview, he is kicked out by security. Dave, Sam, and Jeff know that working at the firm is Ethan's dream, and decide to ruin his chances there, to get revenge for Ethan's blackmailing scheme.

While Dave is fouling up the interview, Sam (Jason Segel) is able to lure Ethan to Stockton, Upright and Falk by using the company phone and pretending to be a secretary.

Answer: Jenny McCarthy

Cameron and Gina show up as love interests of Ethan and Sam, respectively, and Mamie, star of several films spanning five decades, plays the role of the hospitalized Mrs. Van Graaf. Ethan is so oblivious to Mrs. Van Graaf's flirting that it eventually causes him to overstep his bounds as a hospital volunteer and gets him kicked out of the program.

Answer: Lenny's

To celebrate yet another successful cheating adventure, the boys decide to go to Lenny's, since Jeff (played by Michael C. Maronna) can print up fake "it's my birthday" cards for the restaurant. They're seen enjoying three huge beers as the waitstaff sing their corny rendition of "Happy Birthday" to Jeff. Lenny's is where Cool Ethan, a busboy at the restaurant, first approaches Sam, Dave, and Jeff.

Answer: A little locked room

Ethan is so obsessed with Angela that he has a shrine to her in his room and has actually made a hair doll out of her hair! Being the stalker that he is, he plays his song about how he'd like her all to himself. He sings his song on the piano at Lenny's at the end of the movie.

Answer: Learn how to print up fake diplomas

Dave chooses to admit that he's a cheater in front of the whole class to win back Angela, even though it costs him and his friends' real diplomas when they are expelled. They decide to take Ethan down with them by planting a copy of the final Physics exam in his backpack. In the end, Sam, Jeff, and Dave succeed with their fake diplomas while Ethan is stuck with his busboy job at Lenny's.
