Karl replies, "Well, I like the way you talk." I doubt that no one had ever told Karl that they liked the way he talked before. He was teased so much growing up and finishes most sentences with
"ummm-humm".

Unfortunately, the plot really turns here. Big mistake for Doyle to put his hands on Frank and tell Karl to leave.
