Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which movie is this quote from? "He's a vegetarian." -Officer Jim Street

Answer: S.W.A.T

This line gives this particular part in the movie a little comic relief. Jim Street is poking fun at a police officer who won't, as Samuel L. Jackson's character, Hondo, puts it, "Eat a good old fashioned American hot dog." The two characters are interviewing possible candidates for Hondo's new and improved S.W.A.T team.
2. This quote comes from which movie? "I'd never been to Belize."- Rusty Ryan

Answer: Ocean's Eleven

Brad Pitt's character, Rusty Ryan, says this while he is leaving Reuben's pool with Daniel Ocean, played by George Clooney. They approach Reuben with the idea of knocking over three Las Vegas casinos, wanting him to be the backer of the operation. The country of Belize really has no bearing on the story, but Rusty says it in reference to what Reuben says before, "And I owe you from that thing with the guy in the place, and I'll never forget it."
3. This quote is sung, so technically it would be called a lyric, but in this movie there are only about 13 minutes of actual speaking time. Which musical does this come from? "I remember there was mist...swirling mist upon a vast, glassy lake."

Answer: The Phantom of the Opera

Christine Daae, played by the superb Emmy Rossum, sings this as she is coming from the Phantom's bed the morning after the Opera Populaire's production of Hannibal, in which she starred. The Phantom, played by Gerard Butler, takes a special interest in Christine after he hears her sing and secretly becomes her teacher and obsessor.
4. Which historically based movie is this quote from? "Our evil plan is working."- Riley Poole

Answer: National Treasure

This is one of my favorites. It's said when Riley is hooking up the video links in the National Archives. Ben decides to steal the Declaration of Independence so Ian Howe won't steal it. In the movie, there is a 'treasure map' on the back of the Declaration. It is said in the movie that "Those who have the ability to take action have the responsibility to take action." Resounding words.
5. Which Julia Roberts movie does this quote filter in from? "It's an Armani suit!"

Answer: Runaway Bride

Richard Gere's character, Ike Graham, says this to the little Sunday school children who are looking for candy. Maggie Carpenter tells them that if they tickle him, they'll get candy. We find out later in the movie that Maggie is running away from her weddings, because she really doesn't know herself, but she eventually finds out who she is and it ends up happily. Ike is the fourth man she runs from in the whole story.
6. Which third of a trilogy does this quote come from? "I am no man!"

Answer: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

E'owyn says this right before she kills the leader of the Nazgul, the Witch-King. He says, "You fool, no man can kill me." Well, she isn't a man. She is protecting her uncle, who is the King of Rohan, Theoden, who ultimately dies because of the Witch-King.

They are fighting for the free peoples of Middle-Earth. If they don't win, the Dark Lord Sauron will have dominion over all the earth.
7. Which movie in a high school setting does this quote come from? "...please tell me you have advanced chem first period."

Answer: Bring it On

In this scene in "Bring it On", Torrance is talking to Les, preluding the revealing of the curse that 'follows' Torrance throughout the rest of the movie. We eventually find out that Torrance is not cursed, because her cheerleading squad is honestly 2nd in the nation.

She thinks she is cursed because on the first day of practice, a girl breaks her leg falling from a wolf-wall. She also finds out that all of their routines are stolen from an inner-city squad, the East Compton Clovers.
8. In which movie does a man with an alias call this quote in? "I'll have some of your Moondance coffee!"

Answer: Spiderman

Tobey Maguire says this line as Peter Parker in "Spiderman" when he's talking to Mary Jane Watson about life after highschool. Mary Jane works at the Moondance Diner, hence the coffee line. Peter has loved Mary Jane since first grade and still does, but is unaware that she is dating his roommate, Harry Osbourne.
9. From which comedy does this quote originate? "Mmm. Brownie meeting."

Answer: Miss Congeniality

Sandra Bullock plays Gracie Hart, FBI agent, in this movie. Her colleague Eric, played by Benjamin Bratt, brings in a college student in a date-like setting and the brownie meeting comment is her reaction to the girl's youth. However, Gracie gets a makeover from Vic and a group of "highly-trained federal manicurists" and she ends up landing the handsome Eric after she goes undercover in a beauty pageant.
10. Which water-based movie is this from? "Commandeer. Nautical term."

Answer: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow says this to Will Turner played by Orlando Bloom, when they're starting out on their voyage to rescue Will's "bonny lass", Elizabeth Swann. She has been kidnapped by pirates, coincidentally in Jack's old ship. He wants it back and Will offers a good deal: "I'll get you out of prison if you take me to Elizabeth." Yes, another happy ending.
