Stan Winston's "Pumpkinhead" Trivia Quiz

In the beginning of the film, we saw a young Ed Harley. He was in his family's home with his mom and dad. Ed asked his mom what was wrong with his daddy. She told him he was fine and that Eddie needed to go to bed. Tom left the cabin to go and take the horse into the barn and lock up his truck. Tom went back into the house and secured the door.

A short time later a man named Clayton was knocking on the Harley's door. He begged them to let them in their house. Tom told the man he had to leave or he would shoot him. Clayton told Tom that he didn't kill the girl. Tom told Clayton it was none of his business. Clayton ran away from the house, but Pumpkinhead got him. Eddie looked out the window and saw Pumpkinhead kill Clayton.

Answer: They were riding their bikes in the field.

Joel was the first to get on his bike and ride in the field. The field was right across from the Harley's store. Billy sat inside the store with his dog Gypsy as Joel rode his motorcycle. Steve joined his brother a few moments later and raced off on their bikes. Gypsy suddenly got out of the store and Billy chased the dog. Gypsy ran into the field as Billy followed. Maggie started to run after Billy so he wouldn't get hurt by the two men on the bikes. Maggie tripped while she was going after Billy. Billy was up on the hill in the field when Steve came over the hill. Steve was able to avoid hitting Billy, but Joel was not. Joel ran into Billy with his bike and knocked Billy backwards.

Answer: Gypsy hid in Billy's toy box.

Pumpkinhead was looking for Bunt or Tracey. Gypsy was hiding in Billy's toy box. The lid of the toy box was raised up a little by Gypsy's head. As Pumpkinhead entered the room, Gypsy lowered his head thus closing the lid on the toy box. It was a funny moment in the film when Gypsy lowered the lid. Pumpkinhead continued to search the room for Bunt and Tracey.

He entered the closet where Bunt was hiding and at first didn't see him. Pumpkinhead stepped out of the closet for a brief moment then rushed back in and pulled back the clothes to reveal where Bunt was hiding.

Ed had driven his truck up to Bunt's grandfather's house. He asked Bunt's dad to talk to his father. Mr. Wallace, Bunt's grandfather came outside to talk to Ed. Bunt was busily unloading the feed that Ed had brought up for Mr. Wallace. Ed showed Mr. Wallace his dead son covered up under a blanket. Mr. Wallace told Bunt to go inside. Ed asked Mr. Wallace where he could find the witch so she could hopefully revive his son. Mr. Wallace was unwilling to help Ed and told him he was sorry for his son's death.

He told Ed to go home and bury his son. Ed was leaving when Bunt stopped him on the road. He told Ed that he could tell him where the witch was. Ed gave Bunt some money and made him go with him to the witch's house. Bunt agreed to only go half way.

After they arrived half way, Bunt gave Ed the directions the rest of the way. As Ed drove off, Bunt ran back home.

Answer: Ed ran into a pitchfork and both he and Pumpkinhead screamed from the pain.

Ed had rigged up a torch to try and kill Pumpkinhead with. Pumpkinhead was in the yard of Ed's home. He was getting ready to attack Tracey. Ed came out of his house and ran into a pitchfork. It stabbed him in the shoulder. Just as Ed ran into the fork Pumpkinhead screamed in pain. It was at that point that Ed knew he would have to die to kill Pumpkinhead.

Answer: He dropped her from a tree onto a boulder.

Kim was the third victim of Pumpkinhead. She had just seen Maggie die when Pumpkinhead pushed her head first through a window. Kim fainted when she saw this happen. Pumpkinhead grabbed her and dragged her to a tall tree. As Tracey, Chris, and Joel looked on, Pumpkinhead dropped her onto a boulder.

Kim was the girlfriend of Joel. He was the one that hit Billy with his motorcycle. He ran from the scene because he had an accident prior to this where a young girl was hurt. He made Kim go with him to flee to the cabin they were staying at. Kim was played by Kimberly Ross and Joel was played by John D'Aquino.

Pumpkinhead was a demon that was called upon for vengeance. Ed Harley wanted to avenge the death of his son, Billy. He did not know that it was an accident that claimed Billy's life. He took the dead body of his son to a witch, Haggis. She told him she could not bring back the dead. Ed told her he wanted vengeance and Haggis informed him of what he had to do. Haggis with the blood of Ed and Billy Harley set the demon out to get revenge on the people that killed Billy.

Tom did an excellent job in his portrayal of this vengeful demon. He was required to walk on stilts to get the height needed for the demon. He wore a full body suit and makeup to achieve the look of Pumpkinhead.

Chris and Tracey saw that the cars had all been totalled. There was a bike that one of the guys had brought propped up against a tree. Chris approached the bike, he was constantly looking around for Pumpkinhead. He got on the bike and started it. Tracey suddenly screamed when she saw Pumpkinhead standing next to Chris. Pumpkinhead had removed the chain from the bike.

He was waving the chain in his hand and laughing about it. Pumpkinhead attacked Chris while Bunt pulled Tracey out of there.

Ed and Billy pulled up to open the store for the day. They drove by a big sign that announced the name of the store. Harley Grocery was painted in big black bold letters on the sign. The "and son" was painted on in much smaller red letters. It looked like it could have been added after the birth of Ed's son. Ed and Billy unlocked the store and put the fresh produce on the store's front porch. Billy was squirting the tomatoes and potatoes as his father looked on.

Answer: Tracey shot Ed Harley with a pistol.

Ed Harley realized that he was turning into the demon, Pumpkinhead. He regretted turning the demon loose on the people who hurt his son. He knew the only way to stop Pumpkinhead was to take his own life. Ed Harley got a pistol from his truck's glove box.

He shot himself in the head with the pistol. This did not kill Ed Harley the first time. He was reaching for the pistol when Tracey came over to him. He asked her to kill him, she was reluctant at first. Pumpkinhead then grabbed Bunt and raised him off the ground by his legs. Tracey then shot Ed Harley several times before he died. Both Pumpkinhead and Ed Harley lay dead on the ground. Pumpkinhead's body suddenly burst into flames while Tracey, Chris, and Bunt watched.
