In the original version of "Return Of The Jedi" actor Sebastian Shaw is seen as the ghost of Anakin Skywalker. Following the release of "Revenge Of The Sith", Shaw is replaced by Hayden Christensen.

Darth Bane, who was introduced in the book "Darth Bane: Path of Destruction", was a miner with no family, who joined the Sith army as a way to escape some Republic officers after a fight. He found the Sith order, known at the time as the Brother of Darkness, to be too unstable to effectively wipe out the Jedi.

Therefore, he destroyed the other Sith Lords, named himself a Sith master and chose an apprentice, thus re-establishing the ancient Sith philosophy.

Answer: Darth Plagueis

In the movie "Revenge of The Sith", Supreme Chancellor Palpatine tells Anakin Skywalker "...the tale of Darth Plagueis the Wise" during the meeting where Palpatine discovers that Anakin is spying on him for the Jedi Council. At this point, Palpatine has still not revealed his identity as Darth Sidious. Darth Plagueis is described in the book "Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force" as Palpatine's master.

After being discovered on Tatooine, Anakin is brought before the Jedi High Council by Qui-Gon Jinn to be tested. Agen Kolar is seen in the Battle of Geonosis, and is killed in the attempted arrest of Palpatine. Darth Maul is the Sith apprentice in "The Phantom Menace".

Ahsoka Tano is made Anakin Skywalker's padawan, by order of the Jedi Council, in the animated film "Star Wars The Clone Wars". In the film, during the battle on the planet Christophsis, a shuttle lands carrying Ahsoka. She has been sent by Yoda to join Anakin as his padawan.

At the end of "Revenge Of The Sith" Yoda tells Obi-Wan that he has training for him, while in exile on Tatooine. Yoda says that Qui-Gon has learned to communicate with the living.

Mace Windu dies in "Revenge of the Sith", after Anakin cuts his arm off while defending a seemingly weakened Palpatine. Palpatine finishes the job by firing Force lightning at Windu and throwing him out the window. The overwhelming guilt causes Anakin to bow into submission to Palpatine, becoming Darth Vader.

Mara Jade's first appearance is in the book "Heir To The Empire" by Timothy Zahn. All of her appearances are in books. An Emperor's Hand is a secret agent trained by, and answering directly to Emperor Palpatine himself. They are Force-sensitive and trained in the ways of the Sith, but they are not apprentices. Their duties include spying on, and assassinating enemies of the Empire.
