Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What does Carla not eat?

Answer: vegetables

That's a new twist on dietary restrictions. She says this when Bob offers to share his sandwich (tuna blt) with her.
2. What does Carla say she drinks?

Answer: bourbon and milk

The exact drink Bob's holding. Smooth little come-on, there.
3. What did Joe lose on his glasses that made them fall apart?

Answer: screw

When Annie's telling him that her cast stood her up to prepare for the movie auditions, the conversation turns to Joe's glasses.
4. What does Annie say when Joe asks her if she likes kids?

Answer: She never saw the point of them.

Interesting perspective. Joe says he agrees.
5. What does Annie use too fix Joe's glasses?

Answer: fishing wire

She burns it to make a new hinge.
6. What kind of men does Claire love?

Answer: Jewish

She tells Joe: 'You know why.'
7. What does Annie NOT bring to Joe's room?

Answer: chocolates

To the hydrogen peroxide, he says 'I don't drink.'
8. What made Annie's uncle lose his sense of smell?

Answer: He was bit by a spider.

Annie said this when talking about the little things that matter, but all Joe cared about was trying to figure out where the naked Claire had disappeared to in his room.
9. Who is the brother of the mayor's wife?

Answer: mailman

The mailman walked into the mayor's house as it was undergoing reconstruction and was directed about where to find his sister. It seems like everyone in this town is related!
10. When the men in the diner are discussing film industry business figures, the back of 'Variety' magazine is shown with an ad for what film studio?

Answer: Warner Brothers

It seemed like it might have been the perfect product placement, but a little odd since WB didn't have anything to do with making this film, and it seems unlikely that one company would promote a rival in its film.
11. When Jack (Carla's dad) interrupts Joe's moaning about script issues at his diner to ask Annie if she wants something to eat, how does she respond?

Answer: She doesn't respond to this question.

Good lord, that's annoying. I've worked in food service, and it is so irksome to be completely ignored when you address a customer!
12. What does Annie say in Jack's diner that inspires Joe's spurting of ideas for how to complete the script?

Answer: It was burned. Then it was really hurt.

A fine example of how art comes to imitate life. Annie said this about Joe's finger injury, but he applied it to his script. Claire's character would realize that it wasn't the fire that hurt Bob's character, but her unbridled sexuality.
13. How does Wally address himself to Claire?

Answer: As an interpretive artist to a creative artist.

It seems backwards to me. I would think that the director would be the creative artist and the actor would be the interpretive one.
14. What type of company was the product placement for?

Answer: computer

Bazoomer.com. Wally resisted it because it would be preposterous to plug a computer company in a historical picture.
15. Marty (the producer) wanted to send something to Joe along with the note offering the Associate Producer credit. What did he want to send?

Answer: a bottle of maple syrup

Joe already found out, though, that this is an empty credit.
