1. During the black and white era of television and movies, James Stewart played a number of memorial roles. Which of these was a Christmas film where the character played by James Stewart helped an angel get his wings?

Answer: It's a Wonderful Life

In his career, James Stewart appeared in over 92 films, television programs, and shorts. His deep voice and down-to-earth personality, made him a well remembered star with many westerns, mysteries, dramas, and family classics.

"It's a Wonderful Life" was one of the classics of his theatrical career and was released in 1946. Stewart portrayed the role of George Bailey, a man who has sacrificed everything he has for those around him and the family buissness, but never fulfilled his own dreams. Finally one Christmas Eve, he decided to commit suicide because Uncle Billy lost $8,000 that could have resulted in the closing of his business. George had searched all over town looking for the money and even asked for help from a unsympathetic banker, who secretly had stashed the money Uncle Billy had lost. However Bailey was stopped from suicide by an angel who did not have his wings yet. The angel took George Bailey back through moments of his life and showed George that he had a life filled with love and happiness in ways he never noticed before. He showed George what would have happened if he had never been born. Afterwords, George realized how valuable and wonderful his life had been. He rushed home to see his family and joined the Christmas celebration, while the angel received his wings.

Dorian became their friend and comrade, but they did not realize that he stole tokens from each one of them and gave them to the enemy, in exchange for the return of his beloved portrait that contained his secret of eternal youth. The league was so busy distrusting each other, Dorian escaped and handed their secrets over the enemy who planned to recreate them as weapons. However they were not seeking to steal a treasure, but were attempting to return a treasure that had cursed them. The only way to remove the curse was to return it and offer blood. They believed Elizabeth would help remove their curse of immortality, but Jack ended up being the one with the answer. Despite his heroic actions in removing the curse and saving Elizabeth, Jack was arrested once he returned to shore in England. He was condemned to death by hanging.
