Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. To solve a polluting issue, Springfield builds a wall preventing all people from dumping. How is it tested to work?

Answer: Cletus tries to dump a rat, but can't.

Mayor Quimby is talking to some supervisors, and they ask how the wall works. He responds by asking Cletus to try to dump something in. Cletus grabs a rat and tries to dump it, but the wall blocks him, and he says, "I can't, I simply can't."
2. When Marge, Lisa, Maggie, and Bart get back from Alaska, Moe argues that he's the emperor of Springfield by throwing a grenade back and forth with which known Simpsons character?

Answer: Barney

Marge, Lisa, Maggie, and Bart finally get back and Moe greets them. He calls himself the "Emperor of Springfield". However Barney shouts, "No you're not!" and throws a grenade. Moe returns it and Barney concludes, "Ok!"
3. When the dome is coming over Springfield a person can't decide whether to go in or out, and is squished. Which city influences his indecision?

Answer: Venice

A man is trying to decide whether to go in or out as the dome comes down. He decides too slow, and is squished. When he was about to go in he shouts, "I've never seen Venice," but the dome lands quickly, and squishes him.
4. What does Russ Cargill say Springfieldians are trapped like?

Answer: Carrots

Russ Cargill explains the situation the Springfieldians are in. Afterward someone asks if they were trapped like rats. He replies, "No rats can escape; you're more like carrots." I love the part in this scene when some random guy interrupts by saying, "Woohoo! Yeah Springfield!" Sometimes I look at a map of some state, and if it says Springfield somewhere, I'll shout to nobody, "Woohoo! Yeah Springfield!"
5. When Homer and Marge are in the bedroom in Alaska, what does the film spoof?

Answer: Disney

In this scene Homer and Marge are blocked off from their kids, and are happy. All of a sudden Disney-esque animals climb in from the window, and undress Marge revealing a nice dress. They try to take off Homer's shirt, but can't, and have to call for help from other animals.
6. Homer dumbly takes the wrong item to save Springfield. What gadget is right next to the super glue that would help a lot more?

Answer: A jet pack

Homer eventually gets to Springfield after a wrecking ball scene that is painful to watch. He is in a room of gadgets, and stupidly takes super glue to get to the top of the dome instead of the helpful rocket. Now everyone knows, "Homer Simpson's got cojones!"
7. Homer gets picked up by the wrecking ball, and is swung between two items. One is a rock; what is the other?

Answer: A hard place

Homer is about to bust Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and Marge out, but the plan backfires. Instead he is hit between a rock, and a store that says "A Hard Place." This is genius. The writers probably didn't think a tree or billboard would be so funny, so they simplified with "A Hard Place."
8. In the scene where Marge tries to buy something, but a wanted poster is behind her, which character is working at the store?

Answer: Wise Guy

Marge is trying to stock up on supplies for her family, but everything that she needs requires the clerk to look at a wanted poster. She ends up just getting beef jerky. This is the funniest sight gag in this movie to me. The part when Bart draws on the wanted poster, and that family is actually arrested, is also hilarious!
9. When Russ Cargill talks to Arnold Schwarzenegger about the EPA, Arnold groans and says he doesn't want to go back to making family movies like what?

Answer: Diaper Genie

Arnold Schwarzenegger is president in this scene, and grants Russ Cargill permission to trap Springfield in a dome. He says he can't go back to making family movies like "Diaper Genie", and points to a poster. Of course who else would they spoof to play the president of the United States - none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This hilarious spoof is just another example of how funny "The Simpsons" is.
10. In the last scene of the movie, what does Homer do stupidly to hurt himself?

Answer: He nails the last tile into his leg.

In the last scene there is a repetition of Homer on the roof with a hammer. Instead of the roof breaking, or hitting his thumb, the last tile goes into his leg. When I first saw this in the theaters, I watched this scene, and actually cried because I was laughing so hard. I was laughing hysterically during the whole car trip back home from the movie. Even though falling on Moleman, or throwing the hammer at Flanders, would have been ingenious, I think this was the perfect end to the perfect movie.
