Answer: Mew

Mew is a legendary pokemon introduced in the first generation, and in "Pokemon" lore is said to have given rise to all other pokemon. In the "Pokemon" games, Mew is able to learn any Technical Machine move, and also knows Transform, allowing it to transform into any opponent.

In "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew", Mew transforms into many different pokemon, allowing it to move about relatively inconspicuously. Mew lives in the Tree of Beginning, a sort of living rock formation.

Answer: Sir Aaron

Sir Aaron was a knight of Cameran Palace, who had the ability to manipulate aura energy. The kingdom of Rota was once caught between two warring armies. To avoid its destruction, Sir Aaron sacrificed his life to activate the Tree of Beginning; its radiance calmed the armies and the fighting, saving the kingdom and its queen, Rin, in the process. Since then, the kingdom has held a pokemon contest every year in his honor.

Answer: Kidd Summers

Kidd Summers is an ace trainer trying to explore the mystery of the Tree of Beginning. While Ash and the kingdom are having a feast after the annual contest, his pokemon go to play in an upper room in the castle. Mew joins them, at which point Kidd sends two Weavile to try and tag it. A fight ensues, and Mew escapes, taking Pikachu and Meowth with it to the Tree of Beginning.

Answer: sealed in Sir Aaron's staff

Before sacrificing himself, Sir Aaron sealed Lucario away in his staff to protect him. When Ash won the Pokemon contest and became Aura Guardian of the Year, he came into contact with Sir Aaron's staff. This contact awakened and released Lucario. Though Ash is similar in appearance to Sir Aaron, Lucario stated that it was Ash's aura being similar to Sir Aaron's that caused his reawakening. Like Sir Aaron, Lucario is also able to use aura energy as a sort of sixth sense.

Answer: time flower

Ash and his friends go to the Tree of Beginning to try and get Pikachu back. At one point, they stop at some hot springs, and encounter a time flower for the first time. The time flower is a plot device -- no wait, the time flower is a crystalline flower that when activated can record surrounding events and replay them.

This makes it possible to get glimpses of the past, but such flowers can only be activated by the proper aura.

Answer: chocolate

Without knowing the whole story, Lucario thinks that Sir Aaron betrayed Queen Rin, sealing Lucario away so that he could run from the battle. When Lucario starts distrusting Ash, Ash suggests that Lucario may have been the deserter. Lucario responds in kind by suggesting that Pikachu may have deserted Ash, and they have a brief fight. Shortly thereafter, Max brings Lucario some chocolate, which helps cheer him up.

Answer: Regirock, Regice, Registeel

While driving to the Tree of Beginning, the group pause at the place where Lucario was sealed away centuries ago. Lucario senses something, and they are attacked by Regirock, who believes they are intruders. They evade Regirock by running into the tree, but are blocked by Regice while trying to reach the top. Registeel joins the group shortly thereafter.

The Regi trio are slow but powerful golem-like pokemon.

Answer: activates immune system-style defenses

The small robots land on the blue crystals found throughout the tree and attempt to gather information about it. However, the tree does not react kindly to the intrusion of Ash, his friends, or the robots. The blue crystals turn a vivid orange, and become liquid versions of various pokemon, which start attacking the perceived threats to the tree.

The tree's response is compared to an immune response to an invader; unfortunately, the tree overreacts and starts destabilizing.

Answer: No

No such luck. Team Rocket makes minor appearances through the movie, but manage to do absolutely nothing of consequence throughout it. They appear at the beginning of the movie, plotting to steal pokemon, but make no attempts to actually do so. Meowth was with the Weavile in the attic, but made no attempt to fight them. Team Rocket snuck to the Tree of Beginning with Ash and his friends, but did little besides getting caught (and eventually released) by the tree.

They managed to do nothing of note through the entire movie.

Answer: Lucario dies

With the Tree of Beginning destabilizing, Ash and his friends make their way to the heart of the tree. There, they find Sir Aaron sealed in crystal after sacrificing himself to save the tree. Both Ash and Lucario use their auras to help energize Mew and save the Tree of Beginning, but Lucario pushes Ash out of the way and finishes the stabilization by himself.

The stabilization is successful, but Lucario dies from expending too much energy in the process.
